By definition, peaceful people cannot defend themselves at the time of actual attack. Their defence must be deeper, working to develop a system that does not spawn warlords, in other words a system that does not feed violence by rewarding it with power but instead starves it out of existence whenever it begins to appear. We have to break the loop violence - power - resources - more violence, more power etc. The first step in this process is an understanding of the ecology of violence, what it feeds off, ie misinformation, propaganda, lies and the complementary silencing of anybody who tries to reveal what is really going on. This is the fundamental political problem.

page 6: 'There is no mysticism as such, there is only

[page 75]

The mysticism of a particular religious system, Christian, Islamic, Jewish mysticism and so on.' Ie a learned / taught fantasy. Natural religion has natural mysticism which is all experience, since sees all experience as experience of God.

Scholem page 7: 'Mysticism is a definite stage in the historical development of religion . . .

'The first stage represents the world as being full of gods whom man encounters at every step and whose presence can be experienced without recourse to ecstatic meditation. In other words, there is no room for mysticism as long as the abyss between Man and God has not become a fact of inner consciousness. That however, is only the case while the childhood of mankind, its mythical epoch, lasts.'

Then the manipulative politically motivates bullshit moves in and the self appointed elite take possession of 'God'.

God is the way things are. [and we influence it not just by prayer [working on ourselves], but by action [working on other systems].

Post religious mysticism then tries to recapture the unity of God and the World.

Our fundamental satisfaction comes when the pieces all fit together, where by pieces we mean events, and by fit together we mean work as in this works, ie my quest to find God has worked, and now I am gradually composing a report of my journey, like the voyages of the Beagle. Darwin

Drug testing: does it really work or is it just that some people think or act (eg drug salespersons) as though it works. So we judge if something works or not by scientific method comparing what we mean by 'works' with the behaviour of the system in question: have we fallen in love, eg.

The sequestration of mysticism.

An element of hope (expectation of the future) is the fact that the pure act underlying the fixed points of the Universe has no limit to its creative power so there is no upper limit to complexity and consequent peace, since a suitably complex system can provide a habitat for every individual except those behaving destructively, infectious diseases and cancers.

Scholem page 42: 'Palestine was the cradle of the [Jewish Mystical] movement, that much is certain.'

Becoming a 'mystic' is another way of earning a living, a subset of the whole monkish movement on the one hand scammers (for income) and on the other hand noetic developers, like the modern developers making good and bad decisions.

[page 77]

The mystical consciousness is part of the elite consciousness: we know something that you don't and it keeps us in our privileged position. An important part of my development has been the financial insecurity that has accompanied it since I have spent a lot of time working on the idea that would have been used earning money.

People were perhaps forced into the mystery / mystical mode of explanation because they did not yet have the principal ingredient to a consistent and satisfying formal picture of the world such as that provided by metamathematics as embodied in the transfinite computer network.

The Military / Religious complex. As much as these people speak about loving your neighbour and social inclusion they are quick to turn to divinely sanctioned violence of their schemes are blocked.

The Old Testament is a mystical model of reality modelled on political monarchy, conquest and imperialism.

How is the transfinite computer network realized? Beginning with the initial singularity pure action resolves itself into a growing number of fixed states. We interpret this through the motion that a 'measurement' takes p;lace in the product space of the spaces of the two communicating entities.

In classical phase space we represent n particles by 6n distinct or orthogonal coordinates and 6n corresponding continuous parameters. This idea carries over into quantum mechanics, the phase space becoming Hilbert space, the orthogonal coordinates belonging to as set of orthogonal basis states for the Hilbert space and the parameters becoming continuous complex amplitudes. In both cases we distinguish the continuous parameters or amplitudes from the discrete coordinates or basis vectors. One of the principal differences between the two schemes is the nature of what is observable. In the classical paradigm we can in principle measure the coordinates of a particle

[page 81]

with perfect precision. In quantum mechanics we cannot measure the state vectors but these vectors are used to predict the outcome of events by the Born rule. It is this probabilistic linkage between model and observation which sharply distinguishes the role of classical formalism from quantum formalism. Many have suspected that there is a layer of hidden variables between the quantum formalism and observation, but experiments, based on the EPR paradox, have ruled this possibility out. So what is going on? Our clue comes from the mathematical theory of communication, which tells us that a perfectly encoded message is indistinguishable from a string of random numbers.

There exists a minimum unit of action measured by Planck's constant h and we interpret it logically as NOP, an operation that does nothing, that is a fixed point, where NOP(x) = x, analogous to the expression f(x) = x where f = NOP. All larger actions are built from this elementary action, which corresponds to a cycle since cos(2πn) = cos(0) = 1, change of phase always bringing us back to where we started. So we are led to believe that a 'pure' cycle of a single frequency represents a deterministic computing machine.

The classical treatemnt of continuity can be very deceptive because by introcuing constants like ε and δ we are in effect performing back door digitization, consistent with the idea that a continuum comprises 1 points, distinct addressable points (with addresses like ε or δ). The resulting continuum is not a true continuum in the Aristotelian sense of entities which share their boundaries. The discrete continuum is believed to be able to encode an infinity of information,

[page 82]

and the operators that operate on these continuous are able to instantly process the transfinite amount of data believed to be encoded in the continuum. The Aristotelean continuum can carry at best a limited amount of information because it has no marks or points which can be used as an alphabet to encode information. If this is the case, the supposed power of quantum computation may have some dreamlike characteristics.

Above all I value my life and consequently the lives of all the people around me. Stories of war, hatred and unnecessary pain upset and depress me. Many of these evils can be attributed to human mental states which are, from as scientific point of view, false. On the other hand, we can see that they are induced by the difficult conditions of survival

[page 83]

which are to some extent the results of overpopulation which bring us into conflict with one another over limited resources. To remove this source of conflict we need both population control, consumption control and sharing control. In general the way to peace is through control, preventing errors, but the discussion about what is an error and what is not requires a comprehensive understanding (theology) of the human condition which is a product of human nature and our environment.

Although my life is very serene by global standards, I am still subject to some anxiety ehich seems to revolve mainly about getting enough income to pay my bills and look after all those who depend on me. This anxiety is heightened by the fact that my savings are small and advancing age is beginning to eat into my work capacity. From the point of view of experimental theology, this situation is good insofar as I feel the difficulties of life within myself and so am motivated to seek personal and global solutions to these personal and generic problems. On the whole I am amazed at how well my society looks after me and am keen to see some way of repaying this debt by social development.

On reflection perhaps my biggst anxiety is having the headroom to bring this project to a conclusion which means in effect bringing it to a level of value and completion where I feel that I can legitimately ask others to invest in the project.

Creation: the generation of new fixed points in the pre-existing dynamism (actus purus) we call God.

Theology lies onb the boundary of science, between the known and the unknown, existing fixed points and the dynamics from whch the next fixed points have not yet appeared.

Symmetry, no selection, Heads and Tails are equally probable.

Some cracks in tradition: God is both living and eternal. Aquinas deduces both [from the principle that God is pure act].

What follows may sound a bit esoteric to both theologians and physicists but it is currently the best I can do and I feel that it maps, however imperfectly. from the ancient Parmenidean God outside the Universe to a Universe which itself fulfills all the requirements of divinity.

It is hard to imagine the excitement with which Albert the Great and Thomas Aquinas found in Aristotle the state of the art scientific explanation of how the world works. Aristotle modelled the world with two principles, potency and act. What these terms mean is determined by their relationship to one another. First. he uses them to describe motion, a motion is a passage from potentially something to actually something. Second, no potential could become actual except through through the agency of something already actual.

[pager 85]

The terms God and actus purus define one another in a manner similar to potency and act.

Since we observe that things do move, this theory implies that something must move them. They cannot move themselves because no potency can actualize itself. So one thing must move another and since we do not like an infinite regress we must potulate the existence of a first unmoved mover, an entity of pure actuality, the actualization of all possibility.

Now we turn to quantum mechanics to see the modern equivalent of actus purus.

Persona = interface. Persona - Wikipedia

Quantum mechanics has a reputation for obscurity, but it makes sense if we understand it as a mathematical technique for computing the traffic on various legs of the universal network. An engineered network, like the internet, is a collection of computers that can influence one another's behaviour by communicating with one another. When we are using such a network all the operations of computation and communication are invisible to us. All we see is the messages. The same is true in quantum mechanics, Quantum mechanics is a mathematical model of a process that is hidden from us but every now and then emits messages from which we have learnt to understand the invisible sources of these messages. Quantum mechanics can predict quite exactly the spectrum of messages that we can receive from a given event, but it cannot

[page 88]

predict when, that is in what order, these messages will comer. Simply put, quantum events send us messages ( in the form of particles) from which we have concocted a comprehensive picture of the functioning of the world which we call the Standard Model.

The world talks to us in discrete symbols, that is, it is quantized. Quantization is an essential feature of a communication network. Modern communication engineers depend heavily on the mathematical theory of communication to design systems which can send huger volumes of data over noisy channels without error. Errors in communication are caused when one symbol is mistaken for another, which usually results when the confused symbols have something in common, that is, they overlap.

Once we have digitized the Universe, we can let the full power of metamathematics loose in theology, and perhaps gain an enlightening and useful overview of human existence in a Divine Universe.

In sucvh a confined space as this we cannot go into detail, but we can suggest five mathematical theorems that form a backbone for mathematical theology.

1. Fixed point
2. Cantor
3. Gödel
4. Turing
5. Shannon

[page 87]

Conservative, stick to the sure thing.

Send this little idea to the Pontifical Academy of Science and see how many of them believe in a divine `Universe, ie a self-sufficient Universe.

You must overcome the fear that the Church is wrong that has prompted so much burning and torture and subject you beliefs to a bit of bona fide scientific quality control.

The Church's recent blunders suggest that infallibility is at best no help.

Logical model of electromagnetism

If the Universe is divine, mysticism, ie 'cogntio dei experimentalis' becomes normal, not some extraordinary divine gift obtained at great cost. Since a lot of my sensory input comes from within me, I am to some extent my own God, but coupled to the outside God. As in the old days the world is full of Gods. We are going back to the pre-monotheistic era before kings became the paradigm for Gods, and liked to rule exclusively and alone. Bible: Exodus

The hardware digitization (quantization) of the Universe first occurs at the quantum level and provides a representation of Planck's constant h which is the action corresponding to one cycle, closed loop or recursion and which we interpret logically as one computation representing the execution of one eigenfunction yielding (in Quantum electrodynamics) a photon of a

[page 88]

particular frequency.

page 1166 fig. 2B legend: 'In principle any pair of ions can be brought together thrugh a web of trap channels . . . '

The state of an ion is a symbol, a fixed point in a certain dynamic system. When ions are brought [together they interact].

fig 2A legend: 'Optical dipole forces . . . displace two ions [in a trap] depending on their qubit states and the resulting modulation of the Coulomb interaction allows the implementation of the controlled-NOT gate between two ions.'

Each force is a communication channel. The best known is electromagnetism and it is here that we can work out theories in a relatively simple environment that can then be extended to more complex environments, as the expansion of QED to [QFT and] QCD.

What does entanglement mean logically: back to EPR and successors. This is a purely formal phenomenon, independent of any particular code (eg gravitation, EM, strong, weak) ie a hardware layer which respect to the forces, ie something to be found already in the time / energy zone (layer).

So our core discussion is a mapping of quantum mechanics onto a computer network. Quantum mechanics works very simply, there are fixed points where there are resonances, ie processes in phase. The first and only

[page 89]

pure energy / time domain system us the quantum harmonic oscillator which generates the maximum entropy black body spectrum which can be viewed as a superposition of frequencies in the time domain, to be stretched into a spectrum when spacetime materializes out of time.

We begin our discussion of quantum mechanics with Zee's remark that quantum mechanics [is] one dimensional field theory, that is our network explanation of quantum mechanics is the hardware layer in which an invisible process, the evolution of the energy equation, involves one or more fixed points whose actual location can be calculated once we know the forces constraining the equation (boundary conditions). Boson Physics. Fermions do not appear until space-time emerges. The particle encodes the structure of space as well as its own identity in the sense that that to decode the particle we must know the structure of the space (field).

Bosonic human behaviour gives is the rainbow nation. Rainbow Nation - Wikipedia

Here we are thinking of the Universe as a computer network. Like engineered networks, we imagine the universal network to be layered, and we take quantum mechanics to

[page 90]

be a formal description of the hardware layer of the Universe (Zee).

Photon frequencies are a representation of the natural numbers, so we can see the natural numbers as parameters or a spectrum running from 1 but always less than 0, the least upper bound of the natural numbers.

Monroe page 1165: ' A natural way to implement entangling quantum logic gates between ions is to use the motion as the intermediary . . . ' (ie as an observable signal)

'Because this force [resulting from an electric field gradient] acts differently on the two qubit states, it can coherently map the qubit state to the collective motion of ions . . . '

Is this an analogue or digital process?

'This qubit superposition within the ion is transformed to a superposition of the ion's position.'

From uninhibited potential (repulsion, attraction to uninhibited potential - motion [ie a computable situation to which there is a solution in terms of motion ]

The uninhibited (isolated) wave function has a countable infinity of fixed points. In QM what counts is phase, that is where the information is stored. Coherent phases can be maintained by systems operating at the same frequency, energy.

From boson to fermion, from 1D to spacetime. How does this go formally? By the creation of new fixed points in the divine dynamics. [Natural numbers are the parameters in 1D Hilbert space.]

[page 91]

[As far as we can tell from literary remains] The concept of God started its development about 700 bce and reached its classical apogee about 1300 ce, a 2000 year development. We are now in the interregnum between the classical God and the natural God.

Boson, pure count (frequency). Polarization is the first step toward increasing complexity, splitting each frequency into two states maybe represented by orthogonal vectors x and y. [polarization and electron spin maybe materialized together.] Space further splits states, enabling the existence of many separate boson states with the same frequency / energy, ie space is a domain in which we can distribute energy and watch it flow around. General relativity, which structures space, couples to energy alone with complete symmetry with respect to 'form' of energy.

Pope, via the shield of infallibility becomes impossible to communicate with, a sort of dark matter in the human social Universe.

Quantum mechanics therefore establishes a set f physical states corresponding to the natural numbers. This is the implementation of Landauer's hypothesis. So we assume that an isolated quantum system, like the Universe should be based on a countable set of basis states which can be ordered as in the Cantor Universe to give us all the rest.

Parmenides seems to have felt that we can only properly know eternal things. We have interpreted this to mean the fixed points of the dynamics of the Universe. We take quantum mechanics to be our best current approximation to the formal process that generates fixed points. We begin with a data structure, a complex function space named for David Hilbert. Such a space has one dimension for each point in the domain of the class of functions it is designed to represent, beginning with a one point function and continuing into the transfinite (into the mystic). Physical states are represented by normalized vectors in the Hilbert space. These vectors represent points on the surface of a unit 'sphere' in the Hilbert space. Van Morrison

The mechanism of quantum is a class of algorithms concerned with the transformation of one

[page 93]

one state vector into another and measuring the distance between vectors. The transformations are represented by operators which are represented in turn by matrices of the same dimension as the space upon which they operate.

The principal class of operators is the energy operators, whose matrices we by represent by H (for Hamiltonian) or E for energy. The fundamental equation o of quantum mechanics then tells us that for a state vector Ψ of any dimension Ψ / dτ = HΨ, which is to say that the rate of change of a state is proportional to energy. This is a multidimensional representation of the Plack-Einstein equation E = hf.

Under realistic conditions we find that there is a subset hi of state vectors ψ whose direction is unchanged by the operator H. These states are the eigenfunctions of the operator insofar as H(hi) = hi. Such a set of vectors is found to be orthogonal and forms a basis for the Hilbert space which may be used to represent all the other vectors in the space. The simplest interesting Hilbert space has two dimensions, and its basis vectors are commonly represented by the Dirac symbols |0> and |1>. Such two state systems exhibit many of the important features of systems of any dimensions.

As Parmenides noted, we can only know fixed points. Such fixed points need not be eternal, however, We can maintain true knowledge if we change the knowledge whenever the relevant fixed point changes. Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem - Wikipedia

A quantum mechanical event occurs

[page 94]

when a system changes from some initial fixed state to a final fixed state , as when a bound electron changed state by emitting or absorbing a photon. We cannot observe the states themselves but we can observe the photon, and by measuring its frequency determines the energy difference between states. Quantum mechanics enables physicists to model these transformations with exquisite precision and it appears that the sets of fixed points we find in the Universe are somehow defined with unlimited precision.

On the other hand quantum mechanics cannot predict when a particular event will will happen, only the average rate at which we can expect to observe individual members of the spectrum of fixed points associated with a given event. This situation is expressed mathematically by the Born rule, pij = |<ai|aj>|2.

The bracket <ai|aj> represents the dot product of the vectors ai and aj, which is to say the angle between them in Hilbert space or the projection of aj onto ai. The Born rule tells us that if we begin with the state |ai> we can expect to observe the system in the state |aj> with a frequency p = |<ai|aj>|2. Given large numb ers of observations, the probabilistic predictions appear also to be exact in the infinitely long run.

The quantum mechanical formalism works beautifully (although the calculations can be difficult) but what does it mean? What is the mechanism that constrains the world to act in the way described by quantum mechanics?

Now to quantum mechanics as a network description.

[page 95]

A leaver long enough and a place to stand, albeit a very short distance. What I wish to do is move human minds into a different state and my lever is a logical continuum, a logically complete narrative leading from our present state of mind to a new state of mind, a new theology, the eigenvalues forming a new base for people to understand their position in the world.

Quantum mechanics = communication network.

1. Quantization
2. Source statistics
3. Eigenfunction = computable function / fixed point = deterministic computation.
4. The quantum codec = quantum computer.
5. Countability

Quantum bits based on trapped ions enjoy a rare combination of attributes: They have exquisite coherence properties, they can be prepared and measured with nearly 100% efficiency, and they are readily entangled with each other through the Coulomb interaction or remote photonic interconnects. The outstanding challenge is the scaling of trapped ions to hundreds or thousands of qubits and beyond, at which scale quantum processors can outperform their classical counterparts in certain applications. Topological quantum computation aims to achieve this goal by using non-Abelian quantum phases of matter. Hans Kung A Vatican Spring 'THE Arab Spring has shaken a whole series of autocratic regimes. With the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, might not something like that be possible in the Roman Catholic Church as well — a Vatican Spring? . . . To this day the Curia, which in its current form is likewise a product of the 11th century, is the chief obstacle to any thorough reform of the Catholic Church, to any honest ecumenical understanding with the other Christian churches and world religions, and to any critical, constructive attitude toward the modern world.' back
James R Davila Hekhalot Literature and Shamanism 'The Hekhalot literature is a bizarre conglomeration of Jewish esoteric and revelatory texts produced sometime between late antiquity and the early Middle Ages. The documents have strong connections with earlier apocalyptic and gnostic literature and claim to describe the self-induced spiritual experiences of the "descenders to the chariot" that permitted these men to view Ezekiel's chariot vision (the Merkavah) for themselves, as well as to gain control of angels and a perfect mastery of Torah through theurgy. This material is of particular interest for the study of divine mediation and mystical/revelatory experiences, because the Hekhalot documents claim to detail actual practices used to reach trance states, gain revelations, and interact with divine mediators.' back
John Preskill Lecture Notes on Quantum Computation Indistinguishable particles in two dimensions that are neither bosons nor fermions are called anyons. Anyons are a fascinating theoretical construct, but do they have anything to do with the physics of real systems that can be studied in the laboratory? The remarkable answer is: “Yes!” back

Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem - Wikipedia Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 'The Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem, named after Harry Nyquist and Claude Shannon, is a fundamental result in the field of information theory, in particular telecommunications and signal processing. Sampling is the process of converting a signal (for example, a function of continuous time or space) into a numeric sequence (a function of discrete time or space). Shannon's version of the theorem states:

If a function x(t) contains no frequencies higher than B hertz, it is completely determined by giving its ordinates at a series of points spaced 1/(2B) seconds apart.' back

Persona - Wikipedia Persona - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 'A persona (plural personae or personas), in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word is derived from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask.[citation needed] The Latin word probably derived from the Etruscan word "phersu", with the same meaning, and that from the Greek πρόσωπον (prosōpon). Its meaning in the latter Roman period changed to indicate a "character" of a theatrical performance or court of law, when it became apparent that different individuals could assume the same role, and legal attributes such as rights, powers, and duties followed the role. The same individuals as actors could play different roles, each with its own legal attributes, sometimes even in the same court appearance.' back
