The Roman Catholic Church is built on mythology, mystery and miracles, all of which seem to appeal to people more strongly that a scientific understanding of our condition. This may be due to the fact that the strongest force for survival is social cohesion, and it does not matter much how this cohesion is achieved, since most people in a Dominion would perceive their main competition as other people rather than the nature of the world in which they must survive, although a large proportion of our phenomenal success as a species is due to science and technology (partly the product of social cohesion!).

Mead: the application of theology to global strategy. Francis (Pope) has declared himself against capitalism, but has nothing to offer in return because his organization has a very tenuous base in reality. Mead speaks as though everyone in the world is stupid and needs to be led by the US. No mention of the UN or the natural tendency of people to form social groups and look after themselves. Walter Russell Mead

Governments, institutions, religions and other groups down to sports teams and informal games are a principal source of hate and violence between people, dividing us into us and them and propagating false information about both us and them.

God is the source of all events.

The Papacy, as distinct from the Pope, is in error and as such is a load on the human system which must be removed by correcting its error. Insofar as this error is embodied in practice, it is an evil to be removed as soon as possible. In reality, given the momentum of the Church, this might take a century, but we have to start somewhere. Keep writing, and like the Shakespearean monkeys, something might turn up.

The thought of contributing to a theological revolution grows more realistic by the day I have been saying it for a long time but it is gathering momentum, feeling,

ie increased bandwidth. I mixed nearly a cubic metre of concrete today to pour a small slab and am rather exhausted. It is time to cut back on this stuff and try to make a living by advocacy. Emphasizing plumbing over labouring as it is lighter work and I can charge more because of skill and markup. A natural progression from physical to mental labour, a step bypassed by many of the ruling elite who begin with bureaucracy with no practical experience behind them. Their insecurity is sometimes expressed by belittling the ruling class.

The spying business is bringing me back around to the Portrait of an Abstract Man, a disjointed piece of writing that helped me with the realization that I am not immortal. The proposal was that like a giant real time facebook, our lives are recorded in complete detail and algorithmic depth in the states of a neutron star and that the state of the star mimicked the state of myself to such degree that my conscious self would exist in the star as long as it lived. its information storage capacity is based on the fact that neutrons are fermions.

The heart of quantum mechanics is superposition which makes no sense in algorithmic information theoretic terms because there are no marks in the continuum to carry the information. Instead the eigenfunctions must be the nodes of a network and the eigenvalues tell us how frequently each of the nodes is addressed. Said this a while back, but it repeats as we bore spirally deeper into the foundations of our existence.

The 'meaning' of money is determined by the account it is in. Wilkins Georgina Wilkins

There is a logical continuum from Platonic to animal which the ancients failed to recognise. Heavenly creatures. Concrete representation of form. Aristotle was sort of right, presaging Landauer's 'information is physical'. Rolf Landauer

Everything can happen but things happen with different frequencies or periods between events (dual measures of the same thing).

Because I am so weak I must win by pure formal power (potential), that is an eternal form with no energy (hence invariant, ie of infinite period). So these ideas, when correctly formalized, become eternal. There is a beautiful solution to the corruption engendered by elitism, ie deliberate variety reduction by a system seeking resources for itself, ie control of the environment (by people for the people or by the dictator for the dictator.

' 'Formal' and 'material' are dual spaces one static and the other dynamic. This is a corollary of the notion that dynamic systems have fixed points..

The primary purpose of human industry is to create heaven on Earth. To survive and fulfil their role an industry must be profitable, ie its income must be greater than its expenses. So with natural theology, a [profitable business is necessary to propagate it].

We may look at life as an interplay between static

and dynamics, things that stay the same and things that change. The ancients, like Xenophanes and Parmenides saw this as a sharp dichotomy, a binary distinction (orthogonality) which we symbolize by p or not-p, ) or 1. Parmenides - Wikipedia

On the baby Jesus, a symbol of God. Here I propose a new symbol of God, more formal than a baby, but embracing both creative reproduction and eternal certainty.

At the heart of every religion is an equation linking action to reward. The vast literature of theology is devoted to proposing and arguing for and against various algorithms to represent this equation.

We seek certainty, a difficult commodity to capture. Now we move from Parmenides' idea of an absolute gulf between motion and stillness to the modern idea that there is a spectrum running from absolute stillness (eternal life) to pure motion or energy, where everything is in perpetual motion. The two extremes of the spectrum are duals of one another whose product is an invariant: in every case we find that longevity is the inverse of frequency, ie wavelength (in space or time) multiplied by frequency leads to an invariant velocity, c, and a similar structure of to be found universally, implemented in our models by simple arithmetic operations like addition and multiplication (linearity).

The domestic Jesus is the dynamic aspect of God. We learn about the static element in the Greek tradition stretching from Xenophanes and Parmenides through Plato to the Fathers of the Church. Thomas Aquinas developed these ideas into the standard Catholic model of God, explained most maturely in the Summa Theologiae.

John's Gospel recounts the formal model of Jesus, the Word of God, a very significant phrase. Logos (Christianity) - Wikipedia

Order of Preachers Motto 'Veritas', now a falsehood. Dominicans

The principal error promulgated by the Church is the claim that the Universe is defective and its consequent denigration.

Dominicans, Dominicans: Order of Preachers, 'WWW.OP.ORG is the official international Web site of the Order of Preachers (the Dominicans). The branches of the Dominican family are multiple: brothers, contemplative nuns, congregations of contemplative and apostolic sisters, lay persons in fraternities or secular institutes, secular priests in fraternities. "Each one has its own character, its autonomy. However by taking part in the charism of saint Dominic, they share between them a single vocation to be preachers in the Church (Chapter of Mexico, 1992)."' back
Georgina Wilkins, Independent expert to investigate CommSec over pooling client's money, 'An independent expert will investigate Commonwealth Bank's online broker, CommSec, after the financial regulator found it pooled clients' money and withdrew funds from client accounts for years without authorisation. It comes as the regulator releases its final submission to a Senate inquiry into a separate scandal at the bank's financial planning arm. The CommSec review will be conducted by an expert of the group's choosing and will investigate the mishandling of client funds between 2005 and 2013.' Logos (Christianity) - Wikipedia, Logos (Christianity) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In Christology, the concept that the Christ is the Logos (Greek: Λόγος for "word", "discourse" or "reason") has been important in establishing the doctrine of the divinity of Jesus Christ and his position as God the Son in the Trinity as set forth in the Chalcedonian Creed. The concept derives from the opening of the Gospel of John, is often simply translated into English as: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." In the translations, "Word" is used for Logos (λόγος), but in theological discourse, this is often left untranslated.' back
Parmenides - Wikipedia, Parmenides - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'Parmenides of Elea (early 5th century BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher born in Elea, a Greek city on the southern coast of Italy. He was the founder of the Eleatic school of philosophy, his only known work is a poem which has survived only in fragmentary form. In it, Parmenides describes two views of reality. In the Way of Truth, he explained how reality is one; change is impossible; and existence is timeless, uniform, and unchanging. In the Way of Opinion, he explained the world of appearances, which is false and deceitful. These thoughts strongly influenced Plato, and through him, the whole of western philosophy.' back
President's Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies: Richard A Clarke, Michael J Morell, Geoffrey R Stone, Cass R Sunstein and Peter Swire, Liberty and Security in a Changing World, 'Dear Mr. President: We are honored to present you with the Final Report of the Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies. Consistent with your memorandum of August 27, 2013, our recommendations are designed to protect our national security and advance our foreign policy while also respecting our longstanding commitment to privacy and civil liberties, recognizing our need to maintain the public trust (including the trust of our friends and allies abroad), and reducing the risk of unauthorized disclosures.' back
Rolf Landauer, Information is a Physical Entity, 'Abstract: This paper, associated with a broader conference talk on the fundamental physical limits of information handling, emphasizes the aspects still least appreciated. Information is not an abstract entity but exists only through a physical representation, thus tying it to all the restrictions and possibilities of our real physical universe. The mathematician's vision of an unlimited sequence of totally reliable operations is unlikely to be implementable in this real universe. Speculative remarks about the possible impact of that, on the ultimate nature of the laws of physics are included.' back
Walter Russell Mead, The End of History Ends, 'Call the challengers the Central Powers; they hate and fear one another as much as they loathe the current geopolitical order, but they are joined at the hip by the belief that the order favored by the United States and its chief allies is more than an inconvenience. The big three challengers — Russia, China and Iran — all hate, fear and resent the current state of Eurasia. The balance of power it enshrines thwarts their ambitions; the norms and values it promotes pose deadly threats to their current regimes. Until recently there wasn’t much they could do but resent the world order; now, increasingly, they think they have found a way to challenge and ultimately to change the way global politics work.' back
