Theology is one of the main sources of ideas in physics. Consider Newton and God's invariant sensorium giving him a reference against which to measure the solar system.

MEASURE - DUALITY. A measures B and B measures A. The metric.

The canonical method of breaking the execution of a quantum jump into an infinity of infinitesimal steps (all with measure 0 with respect to the quantum of action) may be interpreted as an infinite computation process in which each step does almost nothing and they integrate to one quantum of actin. What are these almost nothings? Representations of the Lagrangian integrated to give the action, A Turing machines on the other hand (if it halts) completes its task on a countable series of steps, with the simplest algorithms beng NOP and NOT,.

We may see all processes as the evolution / revolution of phase, the wheels go round and round, we wAlk sep by step, write letter by letter and so on. PHASE - TIME - ACTION

Natural selection picks things that are in phase - everything depends upon timing [and spacing].

Brandt, Siegmund, and Hans Dieter Dahmen, The Picture Book of Quantum Mechanics, Springer-Verlag 1995 Jacket: 'This book is an introduction to the basic concepts and phenomena of quantum mechanics. Computer-generated illustrations are used extensively throughout the text, helping to establish the relation between quantum mechanics on one side and classical physics ... on the other side. Even more by studying the pictures in parallel with the text, readers develop an intuition for notoriously abstract quantum phenomena ...'

Rushdie, Salman, The Satanic Verses, Viking 1989 Amazon editorial review From Publishers Weekly 'Banned in India before publication, this immense novel by Booker Prize-winner Rushdie ( Midnight's Children ) pits Good against Evil in a whimsical and fantastic tale. Two actors from India, "prancing" Gibreel Farishta and "buttony, pursed" Saladin Chamcha, are flying across the English Channel when the first of many implausible events occurs: the jet explodes. As the two men plummet to the earth, "like titbits of tobacco from a broken old cigar," they argue, sing and are transformed. When they are found on an English beach, the only survivors of the blast, Gibreel has sprouted a halo while Saladin has developed hooves, hairy legs and the beginnings of what seem like horns. What follows is a series of allegorical tales that challenges assumptions about both human and divine nature. Rushdie's fanciful language is as concentrated and overwhelming as a paisley pattern. Angels are demonic and demons are angelic as we are propelled through one illuminating episode after another. The narrative is somewhat burdened by self-consciousness that borders on preciosity, but for Rushdie fans this is a splendid feast.'

Shakespeare, William, and G A Wilkes (editor), The Tragedy of Hamlet Prince of Denmark, Sydney Univesity Press 1986 Amazon customer review: ' . . . The Oxford English Dictionary defines variorum as "an edition, especially of the complete works of a classical author, containing the notes of various commentators or editors. Also in the full phrase Variorum Edition." This volume meets the definition. The New Variorum Edition of Hamlet also meets the goal identified by the editor in his preface. This edition will help a reader who is familiar with the play to bridge the gap in time that hides the languages meaning, the significance of some grammatical structure, and the common knowledge shared by the original audience that is not common to us. It does equally well in presenting a variety of thought for the reader to contemplate in coming to his or her own deeper understanding of this play, and will help the reader realize the true Hamlet "an excellent play, well digested in the scenes, set down with as much modesty as cunning (Act II, Sc.ii, 418-420)' Theresa Marzullo

Veltman, Martinus, Diagrammatica: The Path to the Feynman Rules, Cambridge University Press 1994 Jacket: 'This book provides an easily accessible introduction to quantum field theory via Feynman rules and calculations in particle physics. The aim is to make clear what the physical foundations of present-day field theory are, to clarify the physical content of Feynman rules, and to outline their domain of applicability. ... The book includes valuable appendices that review some essential mathematics, including complex spaces, matrices, the CBH equation, traces and dimensional regularization. ...'

Weinberg, Steven, Gravitation and Cosmology: Principles and Applications of the General Theory of Relativity, Wiley 1972 Amazon customer review: 'The Best Exposition on General Relativity: 'Weinberg is a master. His style is efficent. His words not wasted. His insights are inspiring. Behind each statement dwells a reservoir of thought. His selection and organization of the material seems non-improvable. Completion of the book yields general relativity in a comprehensive manner. In addition to his methods, I am wholeheartedly biased towards his approach of basing general relativity on empiricism rather than geometry. Reading this book is almost synonomous with sitting at the feet of a master. The methods utilized are standard tensor analysis, which yields the best results and understanding of the physics in a first exposure. MTW, in contrast, uses different mathematical approaches and moreover does so in an inconsistent manner. Weinberg is the BEST book, existing today, on general relativity period.' A Customer

Ramocki, Melissa B, Huda Y Zogbi, "Failure of neural homeostasis results in common neuropsichiatric phenotypes", Nature, 455, 7215, 16 October 2008, page 912-918. Abstract: 'Failure of normal brain development leads to mental retardation or autism in about 3% of children. Many genes integral to pathways by which synaptic modification and the remodelling of neuronal networks mediate cognitive and social development have been identified, usually through loss of function. Evidence is accumulating, however, that either loss or gain of molecular functions can be deleterious to the nervous system. Copy-number variation, regulation of gene expression by non-coding RNAs and epigenetic changes are all mechanisms by which altered gene dosage can cause the failure of neuronal homeostasis.' . back

Brouwer fixed point theorem - Wikipedia, Brouwer fixed point theorem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'Brouwer's fixed-point theorem is a fixed-point theorem in topology, named after Luitzen Brouwer. It states that for any continuous function f with certain properties there is a point x0 such that f(x0) = x0. The simplest form of Brouwer's theorem is for continuous functions f from a disk D to itself. A more general form is for continuous functions from a convex compact subset K of Euclidean space to itself. back
Salman Rushdie - Wikipedia, Salman Rushdie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie Kt. (born 19 June 1947) is an Indian-British novelist and essayist. . . . His fourth novel, The Satanic Verses (1988), was at the center of protests from Muslims in several countries. Some of the protests were violent and Rushdie faced death threats and a fatwa (religious edict) issued by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, then Supreme Leader of Iran. In response to the call for him to be killed, Rushdie spent nearly a decade largely underground, appearing in public only sporadically, but was outspoken on the fatw?'s censoring effect on him as an author and the threat to freedom of expression it embodied.' back
