We can replace the charts and atlases of differential geometry with sources and networks. We then introduce time to turn action into energy and imagine
[page 261]
the gravitational network as transmitting null messages, quanta of action without structure as we see in the procession of the omnino simplex Son from the omnino simplex Father. Further we introduce the hypothesis that identical particles cannot be differentiated unless they have different addresses, so the Son must have a different address than the Father introduced by the fact that the Son is not the Father, ie the Son is orthogonal to the Father so that their inner product is zero. So we use quantum mechanics to explain the complexification of the universe and we take the view that in the pre-space phase of the universe, the only way to differentiate entities is their frequency. We stick to the notion that 3D is required for non-wire crossing connectivity. We just sail ahead with all these ideas secure in the knowledge that although each seems a bit outré, taken as whole they form a coherent whole with the Trinity at their heart. Every quantum of action is in the abstract identical to God, because there is no metric at this level, as Einstein struggled to understand.
Auyang, page 26 Einstein: 'Why were seven years required for the construction of the general theory of relativity? The main reason lies in the fact that it is not easy to free oneself from the idea that coordinates must have an immediate metrical meaning.' Auyang
It is one thing to know or feel something, another to express it. I have spent much of my life trying to express my ideas succinctly, but now I feel that I should let my (thinning) hair down and spread myself through scientific_theology, expanding every point as far as it needs to go.
So we summarise Tomas's explanation of the Trinity and then translate it into quantum mechanics using Zurek. Wojciech Hubert Zurek: The quantum origin of quantum jumps
[page 262]
The first steps in the differentiation of God were already taken for us long ago via Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas. They now merely require translation into the modern idiom and extended from two personae (sources) to a formal transfinity. However, we accept that all information is physical and that the steps between transfinite numbers are exponential, so we can regard 4 as transfinite with respect to 2.
A lot of this sounds like blasphemy, I have come so far from what I was brought up to.
Monday 31 October 2016
Finally I come to write down a thought that I have been suppressing for a long time. Every act is an act of god. In fact every act is god. Although we imagine god as the whole of reality and the quantum of action is exceedingly small, because there is no metric they can be identified simply as pure action.
Tuesday 1 November 2016
There is no measure of act, but act is the measure of everything, defining mass, length and time, as god is the measure of everything: am Anfang war die Tat Johan Wolfgang von Goethe
Energy emerges when god becomes a two state system and starts communicating with itself, implementing E = hf. But how to we fit in the kinetic/potential dichotomy [need to await the advent of space and memory, since potential is a state of memory?]?
[page 263]
Time implies the existence of at least a 2-state system and two states [existing simultaneously] implies space = orthogonality = one is not the other, although they may be identical. Energy is equivalent to the rotation of one state into the other which happens in the complex place, so we see energy modelled by the circle group. Since potential and kinetic energy are relative they may be added to zero, and so mapped onto the two state system, one part of which is real at any moment and the other part of it is possible [imaginary?] so potency/act, potential/kinetic, real/imaginary, 0/1, etc.

Write on: right on. From a general relativistic point of view we are inclined to say that the energy and curvature of the initial singularity are infinite and the big bang, is, if anything, an explosive flattening of space-time.

Always trying to drag myself over the next bridge. Current question is about the velocity of light and Minkowski space. Action has no metric, but the ratio of two acts, one in space and one in time is [maybe] fixed, giving us the velocity of light and establishing the metric of Minkowski space. Then we may imagine communication between units of Minkowski space establishing the curvature of space which is
[page 264]
gravitation. Incorporate the fact that particles travelling at the velocity of light follow geodesics and so the interval between their creation and annihilation is zero. The only way forward is to write it as it comes to me and then fix it later. The 4-space layer underlies the creation of particles, but gravitation has no particles because the messages cannot go wrong. As the song says, beat your crazy head against the sky. [maybe curved space is simply the network of fermions communicating with one another, the curvature being measured by the rate of communication, ie energy] Minkowski space - Wikipedia, Lovin' Spoonful: Darling Be Home Soon
Why is all this recasting of physics necessary at all? I think I am inspired by the Origin of Species where Darwin worked his simple thesis out in a cloud of detail to give it enough context to make it plausible. Here we are using the layer paradigm to explain the layer paradigm, We are on the way from the clock layer to the Minkowski layer, 1 dimensional and then carried to three dimensional gravity layer [wanting to show that the network comprehensively comprehends all levels of the universe from beginning to end, ie is symmetrical with respect to complexity].
Peacock page 4: '. . . the main principle of general relativity which states that the only valid physical laws are those that equate two quantities that transform in the same way under an arbitrary change of coordinates' which expresses the idea that coordinates have nothing to do with reality. The network model, on the other hand, bypasses coordinates and deals with the actually messages between sources as seen by the source. But this says pretty much the same thing: I use the Lorentz transformation to transform what I see into what is actually happening in a frame relative to me. Peacock: Cosmological Physics
page 6: 'We must be able to explain what we see from any point of view.'
[page 265]
page 9: '. . . the equivalence principle enables us to bootstrap our way from physics in Minkowski spacetime to general laws.'
Many things are beyond me, and I struggle to make sense of them. I think that is why I like the idea of starting science from the absolutely simple god and trying to build it up from there. What we might call recursive trinitarianism., Father is not the Son, and communication between them is the Spirit. Then apply this to the Father and Son to get F1, F2 and S1, S2, related by Sp1, Sp2 and so on, making a binary tree with each bifurcation defining a new communication channel, a new spirit. The problem then is to to to map this idea onto physics as we know it.

Scientific theology chapter 6 constructing_world: Naturally we must such cosmological data as is available from both particle physics and cosmology (cosmological physics) but our modelling is free, seeking to understand what we see, which is the point of claiming that the universe is divine. The main point of this is that evolution is intelligent and there is no empirical residue in Lonergan's sense of the term. I have become a little bogged down in the details and need to broaden my view again. Lonergan: Insight

Particles are messages created by quantum conversations between two systems, in physicist language the measuring apparatus and the system measured.

Einstein speaks of a 'reference body' thus tacitly (?) recognising that all information is encoded physically. We may equate a fermion with an inertial frame, and so imagine fermions as charts in the atlas of intertial frames that communicate through covariant differentiation to give us the curved [dynamic] cosmic space. Previously I have called these reference bodies 'dirons' ie particles that obey the Dirac equation, a more abstract version of a fermion, but fermions is more in the spirit of concrete information. le Carre, John, The Night Manager, Ballantine Books 1984 Kirkus Reviews
'Le Carr‚ returns to the same subject as his disappointingly episodic The Secret Pilgrim--the fate of espionage in the new world order--but now looks forward instead of backward, showing a not-quite innocent mangled between that new order and the old one, whose course le Carr‚ has so peerlessly chronicled for 30 years. Jonathan Pine, night manager at a Cairo hotel, helps Arab playboy Freddie Hamid's mistress Madame Sophie photocopy papers linking him to arms mogul Richard Roper and, while he's at it, makes an extra copy to send to a friend in the Secret Service--only to find that the leak has gotten back to Freddie and that Jonathan's belated, guilty devotion to Sophie can't protect her from a fatal beating. Six months later, Jonathan, now working in Geneva, meets Roper in person and, vowing revenge, volunteers for Leonard Burr's fledgling government agency as the inside man who can supply actionable details of Roper's next arms- for-drugs deal. With the help of Whitehall mandarin Rex Goodhew, Burr sets up a plausibly shady dossier for Jonathan and stages the kidnapping of Roper's son so that Jonathan can foil the snatch and get invited aboard Roper's yacht. But even as Jonathan, still grieving for Sophie, finds himself attracted to Roper's bedmate Jed Marshall and overriding Burr's orders to stay out of Roper's papers, the boys in Whitehall--divided between independents like Goodhew, who want the old agencies broken up, and his cold-warrior nemesis Geoffrey Darker, who insists on maintaining centralized authority--are squabbling over control of the mission, with dire results for Jonathan, whose most dangerous enemies turn out to be his well-meaning masters back home. Despite the familiarity of the story's outlines, le Carr‚ shows his customary mastery in the details--from Jonathan's self-lacerating momentum to the intricacies of interagency turf wars--and reveals once again why nobody writes espionage fiction with his kind of authority.'

Peacock, John A, Cosmological Physics, Cambridge University Press 1999 Nature Book Review: 'The intermingling of observational detail and fundamental theory has made cosmology an exceptionally rich, exciting and controversial science. Students in the field — whether observers or particle theorists — are expected to be acquainted with matters ranging from the Supernova Ia distance scale, Big Bang nucleosynthesis theory, scale-free quantum fluctuations during inflation, the galaxy two-point correlation function, particle theory candidates for the dark matter, and the star formation history of the Universe. Several general science books, conference proceedings and specialized monographs have addressed these issues. Peacock's Cosmological Physics ambitiously fills the void for introducing students with a strong undergraduate background in physics to the entire world of current physical cosmology. The majestic sweep of his discussion of this vast terrain is awesome, and is bound to capture the imagination of most students.' Ray Carlberg, Nature 399:322

It desires its public services to be streamlined and cut back to the bare minimum in order to enhance the financial bottom line. Not surprisingly, akin to a corporation, this type of governance lends itself both formally and informally to political cultures of authoritarianism.
Philosopher Jacques Rancière pulls no punches when he argues that this turn to authoritarian politics is tantamount to a “hatred of democracy”. Corporations are not democratic institutions. Fermion - Wikipedia, Fermion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In particle physics, fermions are particles with a half-integer spin, such as protons and electrons. They obey the Fermi-Dirac statistics and are named after Enrico Fermi. In the Standard Model there are two types of elementary fermions: quarks and leptons. . . .
In contrast to bosons, only one fermion can occupy a quantum state at a given time (they obey the Pauli Exclusion Principle). Thus, if more than one fermion occupies the same place in space, the properties of each fermion (e.g. its spin) must be different from the rest. Therefore fermions are usually related with matter while bosons are related with radiation, though the separation between the two is not clear in quantum physics. back |

Giles Hamm et al, Cultural inovation and megafauna interction in the early settlement of arid Australia, 'Elucidating the material culture of early people in arid Australia and the nature of their environmental interactions is essential for understanding the adaptability of populations and the potential causes of megafaunal extinctions 50–40 thousand years ago (ka). Humans colonized the continent by 50 ka1, 2, but an apparent lack of cultural innovations compared to people in Europe and Africa3, 4 has been deemed a barrier to early settlement in the extensive arid zone2, 3. Here we present evidence from Warratyi rock shelter in the southern interior that shows that humans occupied arid Australia by around 49 ka, 10 thousand years (kyr) earlier than previously reported2. The site preserves the only reliably dated, stratified evidence of extinct Australian megafauna5, 6, including the giant marsupial Diprotodon optatum, alongside artefacts more than 46 kyr old. We also report on the earliest-known use of ochre in Australia and Southeast Asia (at or before 49–46 ka), gypsum pigment (40–33 ka), bone tools (40–38 ka), hafted tools (38–35 ka), and backed artefacts (30–24 ka), each up to 10 kyr older than any other known occurrence7, 8. Thus, our evidence shows that people not only settled in the arid interior within a few millennia of entering the continent9, but also developed key technologies much earlier than previously recorded for Australia and Southeast Asia8.' back |

On First Looking into Chapman's Homer
Much have I travell'd in the realms of gold,
And many goodly states and kingdoms seen;
Round many western islands have I been
Which bards in fealty to Apollo hold.
Oft of one wide expanse had I been told
That deep-browed Homer ruled as his demesne;
Yet did I never breathe its pure serene
Till I heard Chapman speak out loud and bold:
Then felt I like some watcher of the skies

I show that even imperfect copying essential in such situations restricts possible unperturbed outcomes to an orthogonal subset of all possible states of the system, thus breaking the unitary symmetry of its Hilbert space implied by the quantum superposition principle. Preferred outcome states emerge as a result. They provide framework for the ``wavepacket collapse'', designating terminal points of quantum jumps, and defining the measured observable by specifying its eigenstates. In quantum Darwinism, they are the progenitors of multiple copies spread throughout the environment -- the fittest quantum states that not only survive decoherence, but subvert it into carrying information about them -- into becoming a witness.' back |
Zeynep Tufecki, WikiLeaks Isn't Whistleblowing, 'Data dumps by WikiLeaks have outed rape victims and gay people in Saudi Arabia, private citizens’ emails and personal information in Turkey, and the voice mail messages of Democratic National Committee staff members. Dissent requires the right to privacy: to be let alone in our vulnerabilities and the ability to form our thoughts and share them when we choose. These hacks undermine that crucial right.' back |
