Joseph: George Gheverghese Joseph: The Crest of the Peacock

Building up steam over the summer holidays, clarifying my future.

Hopefully we are reaching peak bullshit, in parallel with peak spin, peak zero sum winner take all politics, peak unreality, peak violence, [peak xenophobia], and [are] ready for new theological foundation based on the real God revealed by science. I want to be, with others, a nucleus of this social phase change, from sin to love, started by 'Jesus' but captured by the power of wealth: the Vatican paid for a large proportion of the false images of reality depicting the Roman Catholic Imperial fantasy.

Joseph page 45: population of pre-Columbian America 54 million.

'In no culture in the pre-Columbian Americas is there any evidence for the use of the wheel for transport.'

Perhaps the circular shape was too sacred for everyday life. Perhaps no-one penetrated the insight barrier which has points and circles on one side and wheels on the other.

A similar 'insight barrier' might lie between the not-divine and the divine world. As American inventors may have had their explorations constrained by theological orthodoxy, we can see the massive political influence of the imperial Church in maintaining the fiction upon which the whole business is based. Only people whose indoctrination has been thoroughly tested are admitted to clerical positions of power: no women, no creative people. John Paul II: Ordinatio sacerdotalis

Feeling good: an achievable course of action lies ahead, from communication and construction tasks for today to the long term development and documentation of the natural theology, maybe now to be called scientific theology.

Building the spectrum of love from pornography to eternal bliss, ie the fundamental realities of evolution to the divine causes and consequences of material existence = existence as a transfinite computer network [embedded in God].

It has always been my plan to fix up the world at all scales from local to global, and the internet provides a route, but first must package the message and develop a brand: scientific-theology.com, .net and .org registerred today with this thought in mind.

Conservation of energy: the root zero sum game upon which universal creation is built by the fact that energy can be distributed over many states to increase entropy.

George F. Will; 'The fact that the world is more disorderly and less lawful than when Obama became president is less his fault than something about which progressives are skeptical‐powerful, unchanging human nature. Humans are, as Job knew, born into trouble as sparks fly upward. They are desirous and competitive, and hence are prone to conflict.' Original Sin II. The proneness to cooperation seems to outweigh the proneness to conflict. George F. Will

Barrier to action. Between thought and action lie faith and hope: faith [that] the algorithm proposed for the action will be effective, and hope

[page 289]

that the effectiveness will be realized. We study our potential actions using models of varying complexity. At the one extreme, 'just do it' and at the other there is endless modelling, study and tergiversation best described by the line the mountains laboured and brought forth a mouse. So I find myself often reluctant to work on the book and more inclined to indulge in construction work, which has a standard of absolute truth, and uses up the spare energy which might otherwise send me neurotic if not dissipated. Building is for me the low temperature reservoir of the intellectual heat engine Let us say that an idea (a statement) has integral entropy of zero, since it it is what it is with 100% certainty. On the other hand as a symbol it has the high entropy of the space in which it is an element. Layered entropy. The Mountain in Labour - Wikipedia

Meaning enables transfinite sets to be processed as finite object by putting them in a names container and not looking inside a black box with inputs and outputs on its 'surface' ie interface with other systems in the network. The world uses the same technology as Cantor. A set is in reality an image of a system, and this system may communicate with its peers by local interaction, so that, for instance, I can communicate with another person at the local level which the bureaucracy is processing me at a different level.

Lust to love, eros to agape (but eros is contained in agape as a lower layer). No live without reproduction, no reproduction without love at a peer level — binding and exchange of information.

The future begins now, where now is a spacelike slice describing the state of the world as seen from here at a given moment. The information arrives sequentially transported at the velocity of light.

Can I say truly that I am on a mission from God? The divine Universe hypothesis might want me to say I am on a mission in God, in other words my little part of the divine reality sees the need to reform theology [taking a new look at God].

The power of fairness is embedded in the powers of logic and reality, which resolved in Australia vs Timor Leste. East Timor - Wikipedia

From my upbringing I concluded that 'the body' is the enemy of salvation. This is false, of course, all bodies are repositories of the spirit insofar as they are physical representations of all our spiritual values, including God. It has taken me a long time to find this point of view, but now it gives me hope in a time of peak politically motivated fiction which is threatening the reality of human life. Obama. A fixed point is an algorithm, a formal structure that is the dual of the dynamic process guided by the algorithm. Algorithms are defined by the st of Turing machines which we wish to identify with the 'wave functions' or transformations of quantum mechanics.

What is the policy? a) principle: maximum entropy = maximum probability = maximum stability. b) using invariance with respect to complexity, we treat people abstractly as physically embodied symbols, and conclude that human entropy is maximized when everybody is equiprobable. c) Equiprobability means, in effect the full implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Money, energy and symmetry

Saturday 14 January 2017

Our evolutionary history has equipped us with a wide spectrum of responses to our environment which span the space between killing and reproduction. The search for social peace revolves around establishing conditions of such low intensity and peacefulness that people can assert their rights without having to resort to violence. It seems quite probable that the buk of violence in past communities is the domestic violence used by physically stronger males to assert their (false) 'property' rights over females.

Aristotle, and (translated by W S Hett), On the Soul, Parva Naturalia, On Breath, Harvard University Press (USA) ; William Heinemann Ltd (UK) 1975 Introduction: 'This collection of treatises belongs to subjects on the borderline between bodily and mental. Aristotle was the son of a doctor and himself a biologist, who believed in experiment and dissection as a means of collecting evidence. Thus his views on the soul are influenced by his physiology. Yet he never falls into the meshes of materialism, and appears quite certainn that the body cannot possibly explain the mind. . . .'

Bell, John S, Speakable and Unspeakable in Quantum Mechanics, Cambridge University Press 1987 Jacket: JB ... is particularly famous for his discovery of a crucial difference between the predictions of conventional quantum mechanics and the implications of local causality ... This work has played a major role in the development of our current understanding of the profound nature of quantum concepts and of the fundamental limitations they impose on the applicability of classical ideas of space, time and locality.

Joseph, George Gheverghese, The Crest of the Peacock: Non-European Roots of Mathematics, Princeton University Press 2010 'From the Ishango Bone of central Africa and the Inca quipu of South America to the dawn of modern mathematics, The Crest of the Peacock makes it clear that human beings everywhere have been capable of advanced and innovative mathematical thinking. George Gheverghese Joseph takes us on a breathtaking multicultural tour of the roots and shoots of non-European mathematics. He shows us the deep influence that the Egyptians and Babylonians had on the Greeks, the Arabs' major creative contributions, and the astounding range of successes of the great civilizations of India and China.'

Barack Obama, Farewell speech, Chicago, 'But laws alone won’t be enough. Hearts must change. It won’t change overnight. Social attitudes oftentimes take generations to change. But if our democracy is to work the way it should in this increasingly diverse nation, then each one of us need to try to heed the advice of a great character in American fiction, Atticus Finch, who said “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”' back

Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal Tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the Magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church's judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force. Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful.' back

A large cohort of Cold War conservatives did not oppose the godless communist dictatorships of the Soviet Union and its satellites because they were dictatorships but because they were godless. Russia may be a dictatorship again, but the atheist state has gone and it is a godly dictatorship now that Putin has embraced the Orthodox Christianity of the tsars. Sheldon Whitehouse, Republicans want to fight climate changfe, but fossil-fuel bullies won't let them, 'Climate change became partisan in 2010, shortly after the five Republican-appointed justices of the Supreme Court upended a century of law and precedent to issue the Citizens United decision, which rejected limits on corporate spending on political campaigns. The timing is not a coincidence. Big-business interests, particularly the fossil-fuel industry, led the charge. That industry’s annual U.S. subsidy is $700 billion, according to the International Monetary Fund. With stakes that high, the incentive to protect the subsidy and the amount that the fossil-fuel industry can afford to spend on political influence are enormous, so the restraints of campaign finance and disclosure rules were particularly galling.' back

He sees a target rich environment around him.
