Another day of rain, and a week predicted. Good for getting on with scientific_theology but a bit boring being trapped inside all day. Maybe life was more like this in the old days when we were more like those animals that rest when there is nothing that must be done like seeking food or avoiding a predator. Now I am somewhat trapped in the time paradigm which tells me that I must always be doing something, making good use of my time, work ethic. Protestant work ethic - Wikipedia

We have a babel of political systems whose only organizing principle is trial by battle and it seems that any state will go to war with another to decide who will dominate. In order to get peace we must contain domination. This is a tautology, domination is by definition not-peace, the control of an unwilling victim, a submission hold. On the whole we need a theory within which to optimize political relationships. In particular this theory must emphasize the possibility of order dominating chaos. The chaos existing in the current world arises from chaos in the noosphere, the sort of partisan stupidity often manifest in social media and commentaries on the work of others [this is such commentary, and demonstrates the difficulty of bootstrapping ourselves out of violence into peace].

As Einstein discovered, the examined life requires a duality and there is no

[page 341]

absolute difference between examiner and examinee, as we see in the duality of covariance and contravariance which together establish invariance [also measurement operator and system being measured]. Covariance and contravariance of vectors - Wikipedia, Measurement in quantum mechanics - Wikipedia

For many people beliefs are stronger than death and so they are prepared to sacrifice their lives for an idea. Martyrdom. What was / is the selective pressure that leads to such behaviour?

Depressed by the state of the world, particularly the rise of monarchy [autocracy] vs democracy (Turkey referendum). Too many oligarchs are using the democratic process to get elected and then proceeding to assassinate any opposition to their plans to use government to enrich themselves. For a moment I relaxed as I saw this as part of the political cycle which is gradually moving toward democracy but receiving many setbacks, with the rise of dictators sometimes apparently supported by the majority.

One might guess that many strong opinions arise from not looking as a whole situation Every situation is a product of its history and any attempt to change the situation needs to be aware of the history because it explains why things are the way they are and gives some insight into what will happen when we begin it exert force on a state of affairs.

A proof is a deterministic logical connection between a set of hypotheses and a conclusion and therefore, once discovered,

[page 342]

it can be executed by a Turing machine, computer.

Have I written this before? Jesus was on the wrong track when he implied that animals and plants do not have to work. They are all heat engines, using random inputs to extract the necessary deterministic operations to grow and reproduce.

The Roman Catholic Church is responsible for much deliberate misinformation. Applebaum. Anne Applebaum: Every day a new Russian revelation. That's not as bizarre as it sounds

Deceit is part of the evolutionary way of life, as we see when we examine all the tricks used by everybody from bacteria on up to the maintain their place in the Sun. But when we become a cooperative body we have to put in-house deceit aside to maintain the integrity of the cooperation.

Eventually we need to deploy the full power of the new model of God. It has long been my dream to write a text powerful enough to blow away nuclear weapons, and the path seems clear to me, but how to apply its impact is not - can only come from wide critical development of my dream.

The loveless orgasm. A hardware function not exploited by higher layers in the human reproductive hierarchy of layers.

P - NP. There are far more mappings of the natural numbers onto themselves than there are natural numbers, ie 0! = 1. Only 0 of these mappings are computable. The process of discovery explores the incomputable as well as the computable space, and because the exploration is mostly incomputable it is predominantly random, like genetic variation. The variations, insofar as they 'work' to produce a viable individual with a new genome, can [must?] be computable. So while the discovery of new viable variations is an incomputable probabilistic process, the checking of these variations is a computable reproductive process then the variation leads to offspring that survive and might even have a selective advantage over their peers.

A radical solution is to make the flow of power transparent and the simplest (but incomplete) strategy is to make the flow of money transparent.

Christie, Agatha, The Mystery of the Blue Train, Berkley 2000 Amazon Book Description 'All aboard Le Train Bleu, bound for the Riviera. Among the passengers is heiress Ruth Kettering, bailing out of a doomed marriage and en route to see her former lover. Pity she's found murdered in her luxury compartment. All Hercule Poirot has for clues is the victim's secret life, and what unfolds is positively scandalous.'

Veltman, Martinus, Diagrammatica: The Path to the Feynman Rules, Cambridge University Press 1994 Jacket: 'This book provides an easily accessible introduction to quantum field theory via Feynman rules and calculations in particle physics. The aim is to make clear what the physical foundations of present-day field theory are, to clarify the physical content of Feynman rules, and to outline their domain of applicability. ... The book includes valuable appendices that review some essential mathematics, including complex spaces, matrices, the CBH equation, traces and dimensional regularization. ...'

Adam Brumm and Michelle Langley, Ice age art and 'jewellery' found in an Indonesian cave reeal ancient symbolic culturer, 'A cave dig in Indonesia has unearthed a unique collection of prehistoric ornaments and artworks that date back in some instances to at least 30,000 years ago. The site is thought to have been used by some of the world’s earliest cave artists. Published today, our new findings challenge the long-held view that hunter-gatherer communities in the Pleistocene (“Ice Age”) of Southeast Asia were culturally impoverished. They also imply that the spiritual lives of humans transformed as they encountered previously unknown species on the journey from Asia to Australia.' back
Anne Applebaum, Every day a new Russian revelation. That's not as bizarre as it sounds, 'But if this seems momentous or ludicrous, bizarre or improbable, it shouldn’t. Take a step back and look around the world: Russian interference in democratic elections is neither new nor unusual. On the contrary, it’s ubiquitous, it plays a role in just about every Western democracy, it often follows the same patterns as it did in the United States, and it often leads to the same disarray.' back

Covariance and contravariance of vectors - Wikipedia, Covariance and contravariance of vectors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In multilinear algebra and tensor analysis, covariance and contravariance describe how the quantitative description of certain geometric or physical entities changes with a change of basis. . . . The components of dual vectors change in the same way as changes to scale of the reference axes: they are covariant.' back
Dark energy - Wikipedia, Dark energy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In physical cosmology and astronomy, dark energy is an unknown form of energy which is hypothesized to permeate all of space, tending to accelerate the expansion of the universe.[1][2] Dark energy is the most accepted hypothesis to explain the observations since the 1990s indicating that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate.' back

Tariq Ali, What Was Lenin Thinking, 'The choice that followed the revolution of October 1917 was thus not between Lenin and liberal democracy. The real choice was to be determined instead by a brutal struggle for power between the Red and White armies, the latter led by czarist generals who made no secret that if they won, both Bolsheviks and Jews would be exterminated. Pogroms carried out by the Whites saw entire Jewish villages wiped out. A majority of Russian Jews fought back, either as members of the Red Army or in their own partisan units. Nor should we forget that a few decades later, it was the Red Army — originally forged in the civil war by Trotsky, Mikhail Tukhachevsky and Mikhail Frunze (the former two killed later by Stalin) — that broke the military might of the Third Reich in the epic battles of Kursk and Stalingrad. Bush interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan.' back
