Politicians negotiate their solutions to political problems within the framework provided by religion.
GLOSSARY - Grace Lonergan.
The grace theorem: something about the power of control by cooperation. A system needs to control its environment to gain input and the output is this control. We start with purely random

interactions, grace = 0, and implement cooperation among n objects. Is grace = 1 when all n are cooperating?
How do we formulate this in set theory and understand/prove it? A proof is a road to a new and stable construct. Proofs constrain reality as much as mind.
CONSTRAINT == SYMMETRY (is stationary with respect to the action in question)
Action is a gauge.
GLOBAL WARMING; Thermodynamic sense: more energy per particle.
Noetic sense: coherence length decreasing, lower Q, more lossy.

Each recursion is a transformation with certain symmetries - invariants. When we do something we change some parts of the self-environment system, while leaving others unchanged = invariant = relatively eternal.
Matter and form: matter stays the same while form changes. Variable and environment (eg memory location): environment stays the same while variable changes. Same idea as Aristotle, different implementation: CHANGE IS RELATIVE.

SYMMETRY:EVENT (Number conservation = conservation of probability.) The total probability that something is happening at any spacetime point is 1, by definition. Event = action = energy.time/ momentum/distance.
Right here we should be able to argue against the empirical residue. An obiter dictum in the axiomatisation of the Universe (ie finding a few simple rules, the SHELL or SKELETON, SYMMETRIES).
SYMMETRY = UNIVERSAL (problem of). A universal is a step in the definition of a particular, a symmetry which must be broken to arrive at the particular.

Transfinite filing system: the files, drawers, cabinets, bays, rooms, floors, buildings etc can never get full, we can always fit more in, but the total number of pages in the file is fixed at ℵ0, but possible pages is aleph(>0).
Symmetry - group. Drilling a hole. Same drill before and after, same quantity of metal, differently arranged. And an entropy increase in the motor and the drill tip - heating. Tiny amount of matter at infinite temperature heats a large amount of matter through a tiny interval.
The whole thing is 'running down' from the big bang (complexifying). Is there a recycle, or is this the inevitable direction of the life of god - SIMPLE -> COMPLEX? (and all stages of the simple are embedded in the complex as alphabets in words, words in sentences etc etc.

Religion: people pushing one another around for the sake of an idea.

All the old religions are instances of natural religion because everything is natural and nobody really knows the long term consequences of their actions, so that all the actors involved did what they did in a sea of uncertainty. So get all the attacking tone out of the system, and look at things with maximum dispassion and impartiality. Yet the partiality and passion is where I am coming from. Passionately egalitarian. Passion is solar energy incarnate. It is not dispassion that we want, but formal perfection in the expression of the administrative algorithm (or not-algorithm)

Stop whingeing and pick on the good. It has taken a long time to split from the Catholic Church, and to see our relationship in perspective, that is as a closed set that does not include me.
So with Lonergan: the empirical residue and the proof for the existence of god are just mistakes in the appreciation of his vision (awakened by Thomas) that knowledge evolves. Any theory of knowledge must therefore be a theory of evolving knowledge which L captures with the notion of the higher viewpoint.
One perhaps should not begin to publish in the fraught spheres of theology, religion, politics and economics until one is old enough to have put oneself intellectually out of the picture, while right in the middle of it in terms of day to day survival. Security of mind ordinarily goes with economic security and so the theology economics loop is closed, and we can write the symbol

This site will undergo many transformations before it settles to a standstill (with my death) by which time it may have spawned many offspring.

Another beautiful morning, high cloud, bright sun, no rain. I lie awake for an hour or so thinking about the world and my part in trying to steer it in a

direction that will be safe for my children. I see in this the prime concern of a parent, that the children be safe. It is reflected in my desire to make a pot of money in the near future so that I can travel to their chosen places and look after them if trouble strikes. The money may be good, but mental attitude, mental climate, is the most important, and here I feel that we may be able to plant a seed that will help a phase change in the noosphere - the realization (very ancient) that provided it is adequate for survival, the importance of our material culture is of measure zero in the overall metaphysical (= physical + physically indifferent) culture. Each science tries hard to find the invariants of its point of view, and leaves all other parameters indifferent. Molecular structure, for instance, is controlled by physical laws, but physical laws do not control the actual molecules (eg proteins) that are made. Control is thus a one way thing between different levels (peers) of complexity. The insight that the spirit is independent of the physical is an ancient one, but

although some claim that the spirit is completely independent, this is not so. The 'zero point energy' must be there in the form of a physical alphabet of events (ℵ0 of them) from which the spiritual world (spiritual processes) are built. This is the economic input needed to sustain the spiritual world, and good religion (eg monasteries) takes care to preserve the economic foundation upon which its spiritual world is built.

Of course, while practice is making perfect the changing environment may be changing the location of the perfect (sweet) spot so that the agent is always one step behind. This is the delay in communication which gives everything the 1, 1, 1, -1 type of metric. Let us say a closed or conservative metric is one that may have the value zero even though some of its elements are non-zero. The non-0 elements must cancel in some way.
In the case of the search for an invariant ('constant of nature') we can hope that once we get the right series going it will converge. The point of convergence (accumulation) is in effect the symmetry of the sequence because it is in some way an element of each term in the sequence.

The Theology Company is writing software to be run on the transfinite network, ie binding certain variables in the network to certain values, analogous to loading a program into an indeterminate (or, say all 0 or all 1) memory.

An ambition: Unite the "big 4" religions is a higher synthesis: Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu.
All that can be known is information and related structures of information held together by both physical and logical addressing = ordering.
Cassirer page 81: Any alphabet, (beginning with binary) can express any structure provided we can have a large enough text.
I am moving closer and closer to a mathematical model of Lonergan's work. So call this essay Prolegomena to a mathematical theory of insight.

The world is like a computer game. We watch the game on the screen but programmers and nerds know that there is a big fast computing engine working in there to create the appearances and responses that the game is capable of.

What we are looking for is the set of transformations from Hilbert space to

The static output of politics is law. The dynamic input is democratic communication.

Cassirer page 125: 'the boundary is no longer drawn between the mundus intelligibilis and the mundus sensibilis, but between sensibility and reason.' This is the same boundary. The outcome of a transformation of a set of data (sense input) depends upon the operator. A sense operator gives a picture of the 'sensible world' and an intelligence operator (which is more complex, more processing) gives a picture of the 'intelligible world', just as an energy operator yields the energy eigenvalues of a particular wavefunction and the momentum operator its momentum eigenvalues. OPERATOR = KNOWER, OBSERVE.
page 126: 'Every dividing line we draw presupposes in the very division that it creates an original unity of what was divided; every analysis presupposes a synthesis.'

Such boundaries are all one sided. The complex is not bounded from the simple (in the order of understanding) but the simple is bounded from the complex. IE simple is BLIND to complex, ie the eye sees the shape of the letters, but not the meaning of the sentences, which must be learned by 'learning to read' ie acquiring a 'reading operator' which is held to be a function of intelligence. The letters can exist in their meaningful order without the meaning being apprehended by any intelligence, as in a closed (unobserved) book.
The logger sees the wood, the greenie the meaning, of a forest.
I feel now that I have obtained a fit that extends all the way from quantum mechanics to theology.
