The basic framework in which to interpret the temperature anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background has been known for over thirty years. NASA, Bennet, Peebles and Yu, Sunyaev and Zel'dovich.
Pais, Subtle 120 '[E] based his theory on the first of two major reanalyses which mark the break between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (the other one being quantum mechanics). Pais
Einstein's [Lorentz] transformations show how things in a moving inertial frame appear to an observer in a frame at rest. We think of the observer as human, but of course in the application of special relativity in quantum mechanics, the observer maybe any particle.

One is running away from oneself. A common phenomenon, and what does it mean, ie what is the hidden structure that accounts for the existence and nature of this behaviour?
We can but speculate and gain confidence in our speculations as their fit to the feeling (data) improves.
[page 158]
So: feeling is the data of life, the proximate source of the information we use to guide ourselves through life. [whatever else it is, a feeling can be modelled as a body of information] Feeling arises from experience: 'he hit me, she treated me like shit, I love you, etc'. Experience, however, can have such a high data rate that it is hard to process properly. Incomplete processing allows the error rate to creep up. As the feeling of insecurity grows, the natural instinct is to leave the place of danger. Since the danger is within, that is not altogether possible, but we can try, try to move away from ourself.
The cure to this problem lies in two directions. The first is to reduce the rate of experience [monastery?]. The second is to increase the rate of processing. Both involve movement, but not so much running away from oneself to confronting one's own reality.
Reducing tension basically arises from having to deal with it by controlling oneself in the two directions mentioned above. Think in terms of curvature and flatness, ie stress energy and the shape of space. [what attracts and what repels humans?]
Curvature = rate of change of direction, ie processing rate (on the first law assumption that nothing changes unless it is processed)
FLATTENING =- LINEARIZING
Jammer 162: "Clifford conceived of matter and its motion as a manifestation of varying curvature.
The complexity of a point is measured by the complexity (dimensionality) of the space which holds it.
