So we arrive at the notion that the way to start theology is to introduce a metric into linguistics. The point being that while there is only one metric in physics, the metric on Hilbert space, each transfinite level of the spiritual world has its own set of

[page 8]

metrics which measure the distances between representations of meaning and the meanings themselves. The physical metric is blind to order, collapsing all complex structures by integration into cardinal numbers. The physical metric is the most abstract and general metric in the system, ie abstracts from the complexity of spirit to the simplicity of matter.

Roman Catholic Church <==> global thought police - Indoctrination.

Sometimes I start to get a little excited by this story, that a lot of patient hunting may indeed pay off. Such enthusiasm is likely to enthuse others, and begin a movement, ie a group of people moving in a correlated manner.

Archimedes discovery was a seminal insight, that forms the foundation for a significant class of technology. But the moment he had it, he could reduce it to a simple algorithm, that any machine could follow (and test great numbers of crowns per day.

Historical insight.

We make sense of the transfinite work by studying its conserved flows, as we do in physics, ie the things that stay the same as other things. Only these things can carry us securely from the past to the future.

Evolution/model of evolution.

NEED

The theoretical core of this site is cybernetics. We are looking for the administrative algorithms necessary and sufficient to bring peace on earth. This task is as old as Isaiah. Isaiah

PLANNING - HEADROOM

Our capacity to look ahead us measured by our ability to process the past in due time. Time is of the essence = speed is of the essence = algorithm is of the essence.

The sweet spot: if it feels good it must be working, vs the Roman Catholic Church if it feels good it is dangerous, an occasion of sin. Which of these contrasting views is right? We rely in the theory of evolution by reproduction of the fit to suggest that if it feels good do it and if it feels bad, don't do it, is in the first order an excellent algorithm to work by. It is not the whole story, however. Sometimes we need courage to mode through bad feeling to good, on the basis of some model of how things work and how effort now will be rewarded later.

The basic evil is to put people on short returns, ie force them toward the low entropy end of the spectrum so that the forcer may claim the excess entropy (in the form of a 'better' life).

Through an organized hierarchy, one mind can reproduce itself in many. A network, being a superposition of trees, gives this power to every element of itself.

The power of information is that it can be reproduced cheaply because it has a small physical footprint, as small as approximately h-bar/bit.

Physical to spiritual is an analogue of the reproduction game from mating to education and launching into ultimate independence (perhaps by dying!)

It is paperwork (ie eternal links) (symmetries) which keep the peace. Our fundamental battle is

[page 10]

against false paperwork.

Peer network = trusted network = 'anyone can look at anything, that's my rule. Le Carre Small Town, page 104. le Carre

Le Carre: thought
Deighton: action

The tradeoffs along the thought-action spectrum. We assume that this spectrum is continuous/ What is conserved? What is conserved in an harmonic oscillator.

'What I'm trying to tell you is, I knew from the day he came here that he was looking for something. We all did. You felt it with Leo. You felt he was looking for something. Well we all are in a way, but Leo was looking for something real. Something you could almost touch, it meant so much to him. That's rare in this place, believe me. Le Carre 108.

FILES = NETWORK 'Give me any file from next door; any file you want. I could trace you a path clean through the whole registry, from Icelandic shipping rights to the latest guidance on gold prices. That's the fascination of files, there's nowhere to stop.

Isaiah, and (Alexander Jones, Editor), in The Jerusalem Bible, Darton Longman and Todd 1966 Introduction to the Prophets: 'The prophet Isaiah was born about 756 B.C. In the year of king Uzziah's death, 740, he received his prophetic vision while in the Temple of Jerusalem. His mission was to proclaim the fall of Israel and Judah, the punishment of the nation's infidelity. ... The prominent part played by Isaiah in his country's affairs made him a national figure, but he was also a poet of genius. Brilliance of style and freshness of imagery make his work pre-eminent in the literature of the Bible; he wrote a conciae, majestic and harmonious prose unsurpassed by any of the biblical writers who were to follow him.'

le Carre, John, A Small Town in Germany, Putnam 1968 Editorial review: 'A man is missing. Harting, refugee background, a Junior Something in the British Embassy in Bonn. Gone with him are forty-three files, all of them Confidential or above. It is vital that the Germans do not learn that Harting is missing, nor that there's been a leak. With radical students and neo-Nazis rioting and critical negotiations under way in Brussels, the timing could not be worse -- and that's probably not an accident. Alan Turner, London's security officer, is sent to Bonn to find the missing man and files as Germany's past, present, and future threaten to collide in a nightmare of violence.'
