Green doorknock and a bit of political activism, perhaps writing a physical/theological green manifesto along the lines of quantum free (Why be green: quantum mechanics in the free world): Why am I green? More or less ever since I was expelled from the Dominican Order I have been developing myself as a green theologian, making great progress in my own mind, culminating in the short essay Quantum mechanics in the free world, and now I have that behind me I feel entitled to preach in opposition to the ancient theological position of the Roman Catholic Church.

[page 34]

The subtleties of a good joke, or any spoken phrase are endless, like the eigenfunctions of a high dimensional linear operator, and it is often up to the literary critics coming later to assign probabilities to different interpretations. In the simple world of quantum mechanics these probabilities are calculated by the Born rule if we know the distances between the relevant state functions which are an ordered set of values with the same cardinal as the dimension of the Hilbert space in question.

Am I on a good thing or walking on thin ice. My model of creation explains the creation of new life, new particles, but how does it deal with death? In the biological world we can attribute death to shortage of resources predation or the accumulation of error in a complex system. How do we account for this in the realm of elementary particles? Our idea is that gravitation provides energy to stable quantum states, but if states are rendered unstable by interaction in the Hilbert space of communication between particles, the particles may collapse, yielding their energy back to gravitation, repaying their debt in effect reducing the overall potential of the Universe. Problem solved? Quantum mechanics alone can fix it?

With this worry out of the way, it is time to check if the Australasian Journal of Philosophy is receiving submissions. Still closed. Download David Kelly - Philosophy moves, submitted, 28/9/2022 published 24/3/2024, 18 months later. David Kelly (2024_03_24): Philosophy Moves

So what’d my next move? Guardian precis submitted. Next: Python. my computer is too old to run Python. earliest MacOS needed for Python is 13: ventura; then 14: Sonoma; 15: Sequoia. These OS work on 13 inch MacBook M2/2022; M1/2020 2 or 4 ThunderBird 3 ports; 13/2019: 2 TB 3; 4 TB 3; 2018 4 TB3. My MacBook is 13/2016; 4 TB3 ports, Mac OS 12 Monterey is the latest it can run.

Gravitation is the touch of God [vestigium dei] and at this point does not play dice because it is continuous, in some way deterministic [waiting to get infected with random Hilbert space due to its senseless omnipotence].

Jesus was a saviour insofar as he emphasized the oldest and simplest algorithm for peace. Now, in lust for life, we can take the story much deeper and describe how naked gravitation and quantum mechanics between them execute the lust for life that makes the Universe go, the cognitive initial singularity / first mover described by Aristotle to give energeia that is cognitive dynamics, to the thought processes of the universe whose formal basis for him was Plato’s forms. Michael Bordt (2011); Why Aristotle's God is not the Unmoved Mover

The algorithm for peace is the

[page 36]

algorithm for creation and we can see that Plato and Aristotle were onto it with the combination of matter and form, hylomorphism where we replace the hylo matter with energy, that is active computation, acts per second just like Aristotle’s intellectual mover described by Bordt. What we have to say more about is the role of potential after the bifircation of naked gravitation into potential and action.

Trump, the vicious victim.

My [honours] thesis modelled the univere as an infinite layered Turing / Shannon network. Jeffrey Nicholls (2019): A prolegomenon to scientific theology

When I began to write my home made PhD I converted this into a quantum network inspired by Nielsen and Chuang. This led to critiques of quantum field theory that ultimately led me to identifying gravitation with the Aristotle / Aquinas god less the omniscience, fitting it with Hilbert space via fixed point theory. Quantum mechanics identified fixed points in this space rather like [Plato's] forms which were given reality in as manner reminiscent of Aristotle's hylomorphism by the bifurcation of naked

gravitation into kinetic and potential energy. With this scenario we see the evolution of bosons and fermions whose interactions establish the metric of Minkowski space. I made this into a book, Cognitive Cosmogenesis, a systematic integration of physics and theology which will come out in July. Now I want to test my my hypothesis by doing a bit of physics. I have been reading and thinking about mathematics all my life so I hope I can be assumed to have the prerequisites. Nielsen & Chuang (2016): Quantum Computation and Quantum Information

Good morning prof. Sumby,

I wish take quantum mechanics II as a non-award subject and hope you will approve my enrolment without the prerequisites PHYSICS 1100 & PHYSICS 1200 & MATHS 1012

I came back to Adelaide (my home town) in 2018 because my parents were dying.

I enrolled in Adelaide Philosophy and wrote an honours thesis in 2019 supervised by Prof Antony Eagle.

My interest in physics is theological.

My thesis explored the notion that the universe is divine.

When I was 18 I entered the Roman Catholic Dominican Order to be a priest. This was the time of the Second Vatican Council. There was a call for ideas and I wrote an essay suggesting that the Church could be much more realistic if it assumed that the universe itself is divine so that theology could become a real science.

This was taken to be heretical. I was eventually expelled after a few years of discussion, but have remained interested in the idea ever since.

My honours thesis modelled the world as an infinite classical layered network of turing machines and shannon communication links in Minkowski space suggesting that it is capable of embracing all possibility and so large enough to be considered divine. It was awarded 2B [A prolegomenon to scientific theology].

Since I could not go on in academia I decided to write a “home made” PhD thesis.

This became a book which went to the publisher in September 2024 and is coming out in July 2025 [Cognitive Cosmogenesis: a systematic integration of physics and theology].

This time I made my model a quantum network, following the ideas of quantum computation and communication in books like Nielsen and Chuang.

In the process I saw that Hilbert space seems to be a much more satisfactory basis for theological ideas than Minkowski space.

Books like Streater and Wightman have possibly put the horse before the cart by building Hilbert space on top of Minkowski space rather than vice versa. Hilbert space then requires Lorentz transformation in relativistic theory. Streater & Wightman (2000): PCT, Spin, Statistics and All That

Reversing the order of the spaces makes the Schrodinger equation the vehicle for quantum evolution and seems to eliminate a lot of the problems that philosophers (at least) find in quantum field theory (eg Kuhlmann, Stanford Encyclopedia of Philsophy). Meinard Kuhlmann (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy): Quantum Field Theory

I now want to get in contact with a physics community and check my ideas. I have read widely in physics and mathematics over a period of 65 years.

I will be a fee paying student and wish to follow courses one by one through to field theory.

best wishes,

Today’s next task: to write a poetic blurb for lust for life .

Moving house is such a pest. It certainly makes me feel sorry for all the people who have had their families killed and their houses destroyed by the genocidal Israeli government.

Back to Lust for Life dedication. The theme right thought, right action, true science, effective technology, evolution by variation and selection - get it down in 200 words.

A slogan: the truth works. The classical world is true. We will be saved if our minds are true to the world. Science is the search for truth by physical contact with the world.

[page 38]

Successful technology depends upon true science [which the inventors of the technology may recognize when they ultimately get their idea to work]. Truth is conformity between mind and reality. All evil arises from error, non-conformity between mind and realty [this is not the whole truth, success for a predator is failure for the prey].

The Trump disaster arises from phantastic denial of truth. And the link between democracy and truth, freedom to conform to our personal reality unpeturbed by false doctrine.

Friday 7 March 2025

A lot of tension in the staid old system as I worry about accommodation.

[page 40]

It is hard to think of anything to say when everything seems to be so obvious that we have to say the same thing again and again. This may be where music comes in to spice up bland ideas with an exciting package that makes them memorable. So I sit here trying to fashion a new direction for lust for life. Like cognitive cosmogenesis it is a string of sounds full of promise but it is not easy to make them into a gripping story. At root the Universe is a lot of [?] .

What I am looking for is the next step after cognitive cosmogenesis which probably just means writing the fundamental steps from naked gravitation to Minkowski space and the structure of the universe in more detail, examining every little nook and cranny for logical leaks.

So much has gone past me without my noticing, like the growth of the children. What has grown in me is my knowledge of the world and my sensitivity to it and I am pleased I have followed an almost continuous trajectory from How Universal to cognitive cosmogenesis and now the highlight of

[page 41]

my life is it the realization that gravitation is the footprint of divinity and maybe my next book should be about divine gravitation that does not play dice itself but acts as a container for dice, Hilbert space and quantum mechanics, a physical empty set [Hilbert space is a set of independent (orthogonal) events just like a probability space. Jeffrey Nicholls (1967): How universal is the universe?

The random fluctuations of life are the source of creativity and because it is random it is not very predictable. I feel that I have had a pretty good sixty year run with perhaps a significant new idea, a step forward, every week. My worry is that this movement is slowing down as I get older, which is why the last few pages of these notes seem to have been a plea for a new ideas, although the comment above that the new book (and so the lust for life website) should be a song about gravitation seems pretty significant, standing at the top of this page while I am down at the bottom whinging about an empty mind. A lot of the beauty of divine naked gravitation is that it coincides with the mysticalish ideas of empty mind and the absolute simplicity of god, so we are in effect kicking off the enormous complexity of the world through the fact that absolute simplicity is in effect the first axiom of probability theory, being a feature of the continuous line which has no salient points and is therefore structureless and carries no information so gravitation is ignorant, codeless, directionless. Andrey Kolmogorov (1956): Foundations of the Theory of Probabilit

[page 42]

Direction begins with the vectors of Hilbert space and we can wonder how to get differentiation, how they become orthogonal to one another which is the key to independent events in Kolmogorov's theory if probability. So my computer screen goes black and I am going to bed to gain the composure to spend another day looking for a room, which I will need to get the computer fixed. Lucky I have two of them.

So we ask where does the lust for life come from and our most recent answer is gravitation, the universal codeless force identical to the omnipotent structureless divinity. We feel god all the time unless we surrender completely to them in free fall, the most common form of motion in the universe of gravitation where the quantum mechanical forces of electromagnetism, beta decay and hadronic structure are not operative.

I am 80. It took me 40 years to get over my Catholic upbringing which seems to be typical of people who have been physically and psychologically taped by the Church. Now I have spent the next 40 years in a state of gradually increasing excitement as I worked out the alternative to the disastrous old doctrine. The foundation of my transition is my book, Cognitive Cosmogenesis. Joan Costa-Font, Jorge García-Hombrados & Anna Nicińska

[page 43]

Now, with the demolition phase over and the new structure well in hand, I look forward to spending the last 20 years of my life documenting and propagating post-catholicism, the universal foundation for a peaceful world in which all the pathogens like Putin, Hitler, Trump, Xi and their ilk are controlled by the human social immune system.
