Sunday 10 October 1982
The rains have come and the river rises again from calm to flood.
Saw a wave come and engulf the house in a strong slow wave of rolling
water, and carry it away. Mother sent me some money to come home and
tell you I love you. I have been an outcast for so long, dying in the
desert, my life invalidated by an inability to conform. Take me in
your arms and accept me as nobody else does, not even myself. Can
I now put down the hard burden of life and relax in tears within you
to flow nurtured into something new, tense, creative. Music has not
been in me, only the sorrow of conflict, internal apartheid. So I
must come together, and gathering force, move again, low entropy,
direction, a new assault on being. There is always a new life,
metanoia, salvation, this is the key to memetic evolution - openness
to self renewal, humility and docility guarantee survival, as pig
headedness and arrogance are, metaphorically, the way of the dinosaur, to death and distinction. Subtlety, release, richness, nirvana and
emptiness. The tabula rasa is the most sensitive instrument. So
soften and cry. The environment is safe for it.
