A black sense of humour may be an asset in a world full of thought crimes, ie lying, fabrication, deception, mental coercion, withholding of literature, education, etc etc.

Right to a) the truth and b) a satisfactory amount of truth.

All the above are misuses of power, that is of the ability to specify the state of another entity.
