Upgrade Christianity.

From cool to passionate, from negotiation to deal. Offer the Roman Catholic Church a partnership agreement. So 'On Founding a New Religion' becomes an open letter to the Pope.

Its fun doing the bar.

ROMANCE <--> DECEPTION (POLITICS) (IMAGINATION)
REALITY <--> DECEPTION FREE (RELIGION) (OBSERVATION)

An important heuristic principle for me is that because the Universe started very simple (as theory and data seem to suggest) then it must be very simple to understand.

I am an example of a system at my level of complexity, my peer group. Bill Gates could have done business with anyone, but chose a series of deal that led to world domination.

Sex is like skiing. There is a way to do it which maximizes the pleasure and minimizes the pain. But is it ethical? Why not?

An immediate consequence of this point of view is that all talk of the mysteriousness of reality must be taken with a grain of salt. That grain is that we are fully competent to understand systems less complex than ourselves, but that systems more complex than ourselves, that is systems in which we are the alphabet are in some way beyond our ken.

If one knows how to save the world, why not do it?

'Management by crisis'. Gates Wallace page 304

Religion is part of the software we download from birth to make us a functioning member of the society we are born into.

Religion is the software of social survival. The social operating system. We play the computer analogy for all that it is worth.

We want a propagator that will take these ideas everywhere, provided that they are good. An open source religion.

Microsoft : computing :: Catholic Church : theology.

Theology discerns the social operating system, using its knowledge of the whole to guide our behaviour.

Solstice party.

It is hubris to consider our products intrinsically superior to the products of the system that made us.

We work by excitation and inhibition, the exciters bong the ones with idea, the inhibitors the ones paying the price.
