The Universal tree is rooted in action and quantum mechanics is the model of action. Aristotle came to the conclusion that the unmoved mover that moved the world was pure action. Metaphysics XIII v Aristotle

Aristotle, Metaphysics XII v 'for the form exists actually if it is separable.' 1071b8

Aristotle, XII v 'Since we have seen that there are three kinds of substance, two of which are natural and one immutable, we must discuss the last named and show that there must be some substance that is eternal and immutable.' 1071b4

'Therefore there must be a principle of this kind [kinetic and productive] whose essence is actuality.' 1071b20

'. . . there is something which moves without being moved; something eternal which is both substance and actuality.' 1072a24

Tredennick note f page 149: 'Since the prime mover is pure actuality and has or rather is the highest form of life, Aristotle identifies it with the highest activity - pure thinking.'

Aristotle: 'If then, the happiness which God always enjoys is as great as that which we enjoy sometimes, it is marvellous, and if it is greater, this is still more marvellous. Nevertheless it is so. Moreover, life belongs to God. For the actuality of thought is life and God is that actuality; and the essential actuality of God is life most good and

eternal. We hold, then, that God is a living being, eternal, most good; and therefore life and continuous eternal existence belong to God, for that is what God is.' 1072b25 sqq.

Hilltop Hoods Chase that Feeling Hilltop Hoods

The feeling is the initial singularity, minimally configured energy, that is a one dimensional sequence of actions = {action} = action. This feeling, when chased, often differentiates into incredible complexity, like the lifelong relationships that grow out of kinship and love. So formally a feeling lowers its temperature by distributing its energy through a greater number of states, that is by increasing its entropy. In the classical real,, where every particle has a distinct identity, the number of states grows as the factorial of the number of particles involved. By making the entropy measure logarithmic, we make the entropy into a linear scale (like energy), since log n! = O(n2) = SIGMAn = 1/2 n(n+1).

Quantum mechanics -- harmonic oscillator -- music. The quantum harmonic oscillator is a guitar with no strings? just one undefined string covers both cases.

Aristotle, and (translated by H Tredennick and G Cyril Armstrong), Metaphysics X-XIV, Oeconomica and Magna Moralia, Harvard University Press, ; William Heinemann Ltd. 1977 Introduction III Aristotle's Metaphysical Theory: 'The theory of universal science, as sketched by Plato in The Republic, was unsatisfactory to Aristotle's analytical mind. He felt that there must be a regular system of sciences, each concerned with a different aspect of reality. At the same time it was only reasonable to suppose that there is a supreme science, which is more ultimate, more exact, more truly Wisdom than any of the others. The discussion of this science, Wisdom, Primary Philosophy or Theology, as it is variously called, and of its scope, forms the subject of the Metaphysics. page xxv

Mukherjee, Siddhartha, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, Scribner 2010 '"In 2010, about six hundred thousand Americans, and more than 7 million humans around the world, will die of cancer." With this sobering statistic, physician and researcher Siddhartha Mukherjee begins his comprehensive and eloquent "biography" of one of the most virulent diseases of our time. An exhaustive account of cancer's origins, The Emperor of All Maladies illustrates how modern treatments--multi-pronged chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, as well as preventative care--came into existence thanks to a century's worth of research, trials, and small, essential breakthroughs around the globe. While The Emperor of All Maladies is rich with the science and history behind the fight against cancer, it is also a meditation on illness, medical ethics, and the complex, intertwining lives of doctors and patients. Mukherjee's profound compassion--for cancer patients, their families, as well as the oncologists who, all too often, can offer little hope--makes this book a very human history of an elusive and complicated disease.' --Lynette Mong
