Music : superposition - layering / mixing - linearity.

The transfinite network, on the other hand, is as non-linear as possible [exponential ?], something introduced by meaning [permutation, mapping] ?

[page 178]

We can understand the whole system by understanding the generic relationship between layer n and layer n+1, exemplified by such systems as atoms and molecules or people and corporations.

The fundamental constraint on the relationship between layers us that the higher layer respect the rights of the lower, in other words the higher layer allows the lower layer to be complete and does not attempt to artificially truncate it, since that way error and breakdown lie. In other words all error modes must be dealt with if we are to prevent failure [so a society wants to have a way of dealing with al possible human behaviours].

At some point in their development people become aware of themselves in the mirror of consciousness and begin to think about their thoughts and actions. Narcissus. Not Goulburn but Bathurst - Conversation on Arts Funding. Narcissus (Mythology) - Wikipedia, Suzie Gibson

I am the same as every other evolved organism: my history has embedded in me a program which is prepared to do whatever it takes to survive. One can imagine that through our history the critical points in this evolution are periods of drought, that is periods when the necessary inputs to life are scarce.

We have reached a point where we are capable of harvesting enough resources [from the Earth] but face two problems: the divine between wealth and poverty; and our impact on the planet.

CREATING : combination and permutation : boilerplating from a library of processes.

The Universe is pixellated by 4-momentum, the flow of logical process through time.

On becoming radicalized: in a failure, the system will fall back dow the layers until it finds a reliable basis, and then begin to recover from there, as life is reproduced in the atoms of previous lives.

Natural law, physical (metaphysical) symmetry. Metaphysics is everything built on the physical layer (which is a spectrum of physical layers beginning at a 'singularity', the absolute lower bound).

Work with God for more probable success.

The fundamental discovery of the Enlightenment is that the truth is stronger, more interesting and more valuable than fiction. Our society is based on a number of legal and constitutional fictions, some of which, like the fictions of terra nullius and the 'divine right of kings', have turned out to be false. The fictional Catholic God is also false. Terra nullius - Wikipedia, Divine right of kings - Wikipedia

Always trying for succinct expressions of the problems I see with the world. The main one for a long time is epistemological, how can we get at the truth when so many wish to hide it?

[page 180]

The world is, like a chess position, a balance of forces that does not have an obvious solution. In my position, I have cooked up a set of ideas that I think are a quite exciting, but I am depressed by the difficulty I have in expressing my ideas clearly and in getting a hearing. The only way forward, really, is persistence, wearing my way forward a little at a time until perhaps I will make some sort of breakthrough by finding a form of words that catches people's attention.

le Carre, John, Single & Single, Scribner 1999 Amazon editorial review: Amazon.com Review On a Turkish hillside, ex-Communist mobsters shatter the skull of a corrupt English lawyer. In a sleepy English village, the authorities ask a lonely children's magician how come £5,000,030 sterling just got anonymously deposited in his baby daughter's bank account. With machine-like logic and soulful literary magic, John le Carré links these two events in Single & Single, a stay-up-all-night thriller. . . . Ex-spy le Carré was there when the Berlin Wall went up, and his spy craft is legendarily realistic. His female spy/love interest is less so--the opposite of a femme fatale, she might be termed a "deus sex machina." But the book's crucial father-son relationship is quite real, because, like the irresistible villain of A Perfect Spy, Tiger is based on le Carré's own con-man dad. The cold war is over, but le Carré is hot. And he will endure.' --Tim Appelo

Divine right of kings - Wikipedia, Divine right of kings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'The divine right of kings is a political and religious doctrine of royal and political legitimacy. It asserts that a monarch is subject to no earthly authority, deriving his right to rule directly from the will of God. The king is thus not subject to the will of his people, the aristocracy, or any other estate of the realm, including (in the view of some, especially in Protestant countries) the Church. According to this doctrine, since only God can judge an unjust king, the king can do no wrong. The doctrine implies that any attempt to depose the king or to restrict his powers runs contrary to the will of God and may constitute a sacrilegious act.' back

Terra nullius - Wikipedia, Terra nullius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'Terra nullius ( . . . plural terrae nullius) is a Latin expression deriving from Roman law meaning "land belonging to no one", which is used in international law to describe territory which has never been subject to the sovereignty of any state, or over which any prior sovereign has expressly or implicitly relinquished sovereignty. Sovereignty over territory which is terra nullius may be acquired through occupation,[though in some cases doing so would violate an international law or treaty.' back
Narcissus (Mythology) - Wikipedia, Narcissus (Mythology) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In Greek mythology, Narcissus (/nɑrˈsɪsəs/; Greek: Νάρκισσος, Narkissos) was a Hunter from Thespiae in Boeotia who was known for his beauty. He was the son of the river god Cephissus and nymph Liriope. He was proud, in that he disdained those who loved him. Nemesis noticed this behavior and attracted Narcissus to a pool, where he saw his own reflection in the water and fell in love with it, not realizing it was merely an image. Unable to leave the beauty of his reflection, Narcissus drowned. Narcissus is the origin of the term narcissism, a fixation with oneself and one's physical appearance.' back
Suzie Gibson, The Brandis effect on regional Australia? Just look at Bathurst, 'Apprehension over the Coalition’s recent decision to expunge $104.7 million from the Australia Council’s budget is understandable. It is especially worrying for regional towns such as Bathurst, who care a great deal about the arts and heartily engage in experimental theatre, proving the arts are not the exclusive domain of urban Australia.' back
Vatican II, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, '14. This Sacred Council wishes to turn its attention firstly to the Catholic faithful. Basing itself upon Sacred Scripture and Tradition, it teaches that the Church, now sojourning on earth as an exile, is necessary for salvation. Christ, present to us in His Body, which is the Church, is the one Mediator and the unique way of salvation. In explicit terms He Himself affirmed the necessity of faith and baptism(124) and thereby affirmed also the necessity of the Church, for through baptism as through a door men enter the Church. Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved.' back
