Graves page 325: 'One would have thought that the richer and more powerful the family, the more rapidly and vigorously it would breed, but thus has never been the case in Rome.' Graves Demographic transition. Demographic transition - Wikipedia
Ultimately the Universe is a monarchy. Not Herod or Stalin, Caesar or all the Popes
[page 123]
but the monarch of all is the Universe itself.
We have all sorts of stupid fools stepping up to run the place, but ultimately the only way for the system to run itself is for everyone to contribute, provided only that they honour the system and don't hack it.
Christians are so stupid that they deny the fact of death, a far greater feat than climate change denial. Denial - Wikipedia
We laugh at the naivety of Claudius when he writes 'At nine o'clock that night, after a great burning of sulphur and sprinkling of holy water in consecration of the whole Mars Field, I sacrificed three male lambs to the Fates on three underground altars built by the banks of the Tiber while a crowd of citizens with me waved their lighted torches, offered their wheat, barley and beans, and sang a hymn of repentance for past errors.' Graves
They are talking to themselves, not to the world. I am not a toy.
Those brought up as religious believers rather than as managers or entrepreneurs in the religious field may be inhibited from thinking practically about religion by the numinous halo that surrounds it, the sacred. The Sacred has great political value to those who control it, and it therefore decreases the entropy of the world by concentrating

power in a few hands.
Corruption sets in when the money people start acting as though 1 + 1 <> 2.
Graves page 348: 'The hymns were to implore the protection of Apollo, his sister Diana, his mother Latona and his father Jove for all the cities, town and magistrates in the whole Empire.
Prayer = talking to oneself (so this book, and its mates, are a long written prayer). Why? To do something.

Graves page 373: 'I know no sound so laughable, so laughable and sad / As an old man weeping for his wife, a girl gone to the bad.'
As Bernard Lonergan so beautifully explains, we understand something when we can make a formal model of it, that is express it in text, as we way a circle is a set of points equidistant from its central point.
This paper begins with a formal model which seems sufficiently complex to be placed into correspondence with any system, not matter how big and complex, even the Universe. The second part of the paper maps the model to physics. The third part maps it to human affairs. The last part of the paper uses the notion of Cantor symmetry to project this picture of the world into the future given what we know about the past.
The Catholic Church is a prime example of corporate control of knowledge.

I went a bit gay in the monastery and there were others more willing than I, but I was inhibited by the wall of evil I had been indoctrinated to believe, and I found it hard to break my vow of chastity and commit a 'sin against nature' in the one move.
Cantor identified the two facets of number, measure and order, and used order to create new measures. The characteristic function of the transfinite computer network is one for a realized structure, 0 for an unrealized structure [process]. Occupied state = 1, unoccupied state [= 0].
Every event is unique, although different events may have many common elements. This is true in the finite world, but not necessarily in the infinite world.
Khinchin page 1: 'In classical mechanics the state of a system uniquely determines the values of all the physical quantities associated with it . . . In quantum mechanics, the state of a system defined the physical quantities
[page 125]
only as random variables ie it determines the laws of distribution obeyed by the physical quantities and not their values. . . . In statistical physics the mean value of a physical quantity is found by averaging the quantity over different states of the system. In quantum mechanics, however, we speak of the mean value of a quantity in a certain definite fixed state.'

Function (eigenfunction) mapping -- Turing machine -- memory configuration. Eigenfunction = memory state. Orthogonality = non-overlapping states.
Doyle: Scarlet: 'It seemed to me that the mists in my own mind were gradually clearing away, and I began to have a dim, vague perception of the truth. Doyle
Heaven and hell are means of control, attraction and repulsion.

A formal description of the origins of form
Saturday 12 December 2009
We naturally seek explanations for our existence and role on the planet and our actions are guided by our explanations. This is beautifully exemplified by the Bible and all the other stories of human origins, which carry with them explicit
[page 127]
or implicit moral codes whose general effect is to make human existence more secure by guaranteeing peace and food supply.
The network mind. The mind of the network.
The basic error (and the basic attraction) of the Roman Catholic Church is its denial of death.
PASSION leads to ACTION which is in effect the opposite of the Aristotelian view that passion is the result of imposed action, taken over by the Catholics who attribute our passions to Original Sin. Decree Concerning Original Sin Original sin - Wikipedia
Insofar as the old belief systems are not in accord with human experience, we need a new comprehensive foundation of our understanding of ourselves which seems to me to be almost certainly a natural theology based on a Divine Universe. Since I still seem to be quite alone in this opinion, my feeling is to 'go for broke' in terms of writing and promotion now that I am on the verge of becoming an 'elder' on an old age pension. This seems to me to be the best contribution I can make to the human and natural planet that has supported me all my life.
