Evidence is something formal that does not change with time, like the documents stored in a bureaucracy.

The social forces of correlation keep us sane.

[page 128]

A simple initial task for the transfinite network is to use its layered nature to explain the difference between complete, symmetric and anti-symmetric statistics.

Things do not happen because of inhibition, and we might think that the fundamental inhibition on an event is that it is just not possible, ie the variety (complexity) is not there to make 'room' for it.

First rewrite the Catholic Church to achieve similar aims of sanctification of the human race using more acceptable code, and is this as a basis for interfacing with other religions.

Human life may be seen as a superposition of all three types of statistics, complete in the classical world, symmetric and anti-symmetric in the communication world. We are all identically human.

Arranged marriage (controlled by the corporation) vs marriage for love (controlled by local communication).

LOCAL = PEER (?)

SYMMETRY BOSE ENERGY (a cardinal) vs ANTISYMMETRY -- FERMI-DIRAC (ordinal, no more than one particle per state).

Particle = physically embodied information = message in transit. Wave = phase space in which the particles move, computing the probability of finding a given particle in a given place.

[page 129]

Fermion states: there is a maximum of one person in any given human state just as there is a maximum of one electron in any given electron state. Boson states: we nevertheless join groups, and, as the group becomes larger it becomes more attractive, like a gravitating planet.

Fermi statistics work in the area of no-cloning so that given that every particle is unique, a maximum of one can occupy a given state. This is proved in quantum mechanics from antisymmetric wave functions and permuting particles, but this may be correlation rather than cause, so that no-cloning is the cause of anti-symmetry rather than vice versa.

'What are the mechanisms behind this surprising response?' Colllins Science 326:1354 Collins Every explanation is a mechanism, that is a Turing machine.

'Instead of moltility [plants] use dormancy to outlast adversarial conditions caused by pathogens or severe weather.' Sussman & Phillips Science 326:1356. Sussman & Phillips

Communication theory is Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics. How do we cut it down to symmetric and antisymmetric, these reductions (we suspect) being the constraints necessary to overcome error.

Via negativa via complementary probabilities: Feller page 33. Probability that all birthdays are different = 1 - probability that two birthdays are the same. Feller

[page 130]

Insofar as statistics are concerned with the occupancy numbers of cells, we may see Fermi-Dirac statistics as a description of cells that are created by the act of occupation, so giving us one particle per cell automatically.

Creation concerns the boundary between distinguishable and indistinguishable situations. So getting to know a group of people is the transition between seeing them as indistinguishable individuals and knowing them as distinct individuals each with a name and personality.

Runs and testing randomness. Feller page 42: 'the problem is to decide whether a given observation is attributable to chance or whether a search for assignable causes is indicated.'

Is the world attributable to chance? Chance and selection, ie cardinal constraints. Chance is constrained by resources. Creation creates resources, but resources create possibilities that are always of greater cardinal than the cardinal of the resources, by Cantor's theorem.

Feller page 42: 'an excess of runs points to intentional mixing, a paucity of runs [longer runs] to intentional clustering'. Fermions 'mix', bosons 'cluster'.

Plato's approach may have been inspired by Parmenides. Parmenides Plato

Catholicism has hit on a perfect control algorithm based on a fictitious afterworld where the good will be eternally rewarded and the bad eternally punished.

One sees denial everywhere once one begins to look for it. Just as the Christians like to deny death, the Marxists like to deny the role of capital in the development of the world - we might say that development is capital, insofar as we see capital as the structure (factories, roads, religion) which underlies effective human action for fitness.

GOD = CAPITAL = RELIGION

We may see capital as the invariant that guides a process to a successful conclusion. The human genome is our capital. We may think of capital as relatively formal or relatively eternal, changing much more slowly that the process it informs. In general human terms, we see a capital investment like a house or a power station having a life of about 100 years and guiding day to day activities.

CAPITAL = ORDINAL
MONEY = CARDINAL

One of our most socially valuable forms of capital is textbooks, records of received knowledge that can be applied to increase human fitness.

The first step in convincing others is to become convinced oneself, and the most effective propagandists are the ones who are prepared to die for their beliefs, like Jesus. The special point about the Jesus story, of course, is that he came alive again.

[page 132]

With the origin of consciousness came the search for 'the meaning of life' and the generation of meanings that would serve both as capital and a source of income to their generators. Since there is yet no clear answer to the question, there are no clear grounds for accepting or rejecting any given hypothesis.

Collins, Scott L, "Biodiversity Under Global Change", Science, 326, 5958, 4 December 2009, page 1353-1354. 'Many common plant species, such as prairie grasses, have evolved traits for the efficient capture and use of two key resources that limit terrestrial productivity: nitrogen (N) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Over the past 60 years, human activity has vastly increased the availability of these resources. Atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased by 40%, and N availability has more than doubled. These changes are likely to have important consequences for species interactions, community structure, and ecosystem functioning. 'Seeds are plant spores—desiccated, dormant cells in which metabolism and growth have been drastically slowed, so that the organism can wait out adverse conditions. This is especially important for plants, which cannot run away from environmental threats. Instead of motility, they use dormancy to outlast adversarial conditions caused by pathogens or severe weather. Indeed, some seeds remain viable for hundreds of years.
