Species = peer group
Animals include species.

We have peers within peers

Theorem = symmetry = invariance, eg Pythagoras

An -ism is a constraint on human mindspace, eg Catholicism.

WRITING = FLATTENING, reducing a structure in n-space to a string or line in 1-space.

Every line is a superposition of a transfinity of lines, the natural line.

Lonergan has looked at the space of the human mind from within, and reaffirmed

the general conclusions of all who have done so. Lonergan From the inside insight is a mysterious process that happens to us. We attribute it to a divine light. But how does this work? Modern physiology, built on molecular biology, built in turn on chemistry, physics and mathematics shows us how our bodies (and the bodies of all other living things we have found on earth) work. What about the mind? Lonergan joins a long tradition of insisting that this is a mystery, but science is not so constrained, and seeks to both build mathematical models of the mind and see these models realized in living systems be they prions or the whole planet earth,

Physiology is a process that occurs in a space. Each physical realization of a process can be envisaged in terms of a space of atoms interacting through photons and electrons, the elements of the process described by QED. Feynman

space relies on ordered sets and computers to turn one ordered set into another.

Luther: sola scriptura, sola gratia, sola fide : how do we translate these?

Hunger will overcome laziness. Hyperactivity may be associated with insecurity.

Lonergan introduced me to the conscious study of mindspace at a sensitive period when I was in a contemplativish order which places a lot of weight on meditation, which is an introspective activity (or non-activity)

Given a dictionary of n words, which are interchangeably nouns of verbs, we can make n3 sentences, many meaningless

owl owl owl
Owl eats mouse

Action projected onto space gives us momentum. distance. Projected onto time gives us energy.time.

momentum MLT-1
energy ML2T-2 = MLT-1 x LT-1 = mv2.

GROUP = ACTION (discrete/continuous)

INHERITANCE (capital) + CREATIVITY (action, building up the Co) --> FITNESS.

Let us get the action principle into ethics - natural-spirit.

Feynman, Richard P, and Robert B Leighton, Matthew Sands, The Feynman Lectures on Physics (volume 3) : Quantum Mechanics, Addison Wesley 1970 Foreword: 'This set of lectures tries to elucidate from the beginning those features of quantum mechanics which are the most basic and the most general. . . . In each instance the ideas are introduced together with a detailed discussion of some specific examples - to try to make the physical ideas as real as possible.' Matthew Sands

Gaddis, John Lewis, The Cold War: A New History, The Penguin Press 2005 Jacket: 'Many will remember what it was like to live under the shadow of the Cold War: the ever-present anxiety that at some point, because of some miscalculation or act of hubris, we might find ourselve sin the middle of a nuclear holocaust . . . How did this terrible conflict arise? How did wartime allies so quickly become deadly foes after 1945 and divide the world into opposing camps, each armed to the teeth? And how, suddenly, did it all come to an end? Only now that the Cold War has been over for fifteen years can we begin to find a convincing perspective on it. John Lewis Gaddis's masterly book is the first full, major history of the whole conflict and explains not just what happened, but why it happened . . . Gaddis has synthesized all the most recent scholarship, but has also used minutes from Politburo meetings, startling information from recently opened Soviet and Asian archives, . . . and above all the words of the leading participants themselves -- showing what was realy on the mind of each, with a very dramatic immediacy. . . . The Committee for the Compilation of Materials on the Damage Caused by the Atomic Bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hiroshima and Nagasaki: The Physical Medical and Social Effects of the Atomic Bombings, Hutchison 1981. Jacket: 'This book is the definitive account of the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. . . . More than four years in the making, this clearly written and jargon free account is both a summary and an analysis by Japan's leading physicists, physicians and social scientists of the full findings about the immediate damage of the bombs . . . and their permanent medical, genetic, social and psychological effects. In almost every respect the findings show that the damage caused by the bombs was much more serious than earlier studies have indicated. Not only were there more deaths, but a terrible and lasting impactcan be seen in terms of chronic disease (especially cancers), genetic and chromosomal damage, and social disorganisation - family disruption, crime, suicide and mental illness.'
